AT&T has agreed to bring 3,000 outsourced jobs home to the U.S. The union that represents AT&T workers, the Communications Workers of America, said Thursday that it's reached a tentative agreement with AT&T Southwest -- a regional landline arm of the company -- that includes a commitment to hire American workers to do jobs that were previously done by contractors overseas. The four-year deal also covers wage hikes, paid parental leave, healthcare and benefits for 20,000 AT&T Southwest workers across five southern states. The exact terms of the deal still need to be approved by a union members vote. AT&T...

Obama has made tried to make political hay about Romney and Bain Capital and the assertion that Romney has moved jobs overseas. Whatever the merits of that line of attack, Obama is conveniently neglecting to acknowledge his complicity in doing that very thing. That very thing, being the exporting of American jobs. please visit: http://blastedfools.wordpress.com/2012/10/08/baseball-hot-dogs-apple-pie-chevrolet-and-chairman-mao/) to see the video. The subtrifuge of Obama and how the Democrats have misled on the Detroit Auto bailout, are relatively trivial in comparison to the clear truths that this narratives reveals. I have at various times commented in passing, that the reality of how...

Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski recently traveled to Hollywood to meet with studio executives and talk about ideas to increase production in Oregon. The Governor and a bipartisan group of legislators created "GREENLIGHT OREGON," a package of incentives that will help make Oregon a serious player in the competition for major film and television productions. This will create jobs in Oregon, in the United States, and generate millions of dollars for the ecconomy. I fully support this bill since it will help to keep "Hollywood" in the United States instead of major studios going outside of the country to shoot in...

I can't stand it. A week away from the day-to-day barrage of data and noise and NOTHING has changed. Sometimes I think everyone who invests in stocks for a living is a Junior Chartman or running for president. All I've heard about the market from trading desks this week is the same thing I heard two weeks ago: 1) Technicals continue to deteriorate and EVERY trader is a technician. (They would trade dog vomit if there was a bid and ask.) 2) There's no value to be found in the market. (Although when pressed to define value, they say "charts...

U.S. jobs jumping ship: Cheap offshore labor is not just for manufacturing any more -- is your job heading overseas, too?

As painful as February's big job cuts were, what's even more painful is that many of those jobs are never coming back, as U.S. employers in a wide range of industries move more and more jobs overseas.
