  • WTF? OMG, LOL! CIA gives WikiLeaks taskforce naughty name

The CIA has launched a taskforce to assess the impact of 250,000 leaked US diplomatic cables. Its name? WikiLeaks Task Force, or WTF for short. The group will scour the released documents to survey damage caused by the disclosures. One of the most embarrassing revelations was that the US state department had drawn up a list of information it would like on key UN figures – it later emerged the CIA had asked for the information. "Officially, the panel is called the WikiLeaks Task Force. But at CIA headquarters, it's mainly known by its all-too-apt acronym: WTF," the Washington Post...

Hillary Clinton has been telling everyone that organising her daughter Chelsea's wedding was the most stressful thing she'd done in some time. But with that happy event out of the way, most observers would expect her to be back at the top of her game in time to take on Iran's President Ahmadinejad at the United Nations General Assembly this week. With two of the three American hikers still being held by the Tehran regime and Sakineh Ashtiani still facing death by stoning, a mighty war of words is expected in New York. But if her plan of action seemed...

I am sick and tired of this site being taken over by Catholics ( of which I am one ) stories or proverbs. This is a news site not a religion site. Go do that somewhere else. I am not opposed to your prostilazion(sp), just not here. We lose credibility if any religious group dictates or can be quoted from this site. As a long term member of this site I regret posting this information, but the site has been buried in Catholic stuff recently and it should be shunted to some separate page.
  • Germany Patrol Boat Demonstrates Seamanship [to long-haired, dope-smoking Greenpeace types]

In the first sequence, it's important to note that the German vessel (not sure if it qualifies as a "patrol boat," as I couldn't identify it) bears-off in order to avoid striking a "friendly" inflatable. What's interesting about the later sequence is the master's throttle control, and what appears to be the patrol boat driving the stern of the "unfriendly" inflatable underwater in order to disable its engine. I'm getting a kick out of imagining (delivered in a German accent, naturally): "UNIDENTIFIED VESSEL OFF MY STARBOARD BOW!THIS IS THE GERMAN PATROL BOAT, OMGPWND! YOU HAVE ENTERED RESTRICTED WATERS! HEAVE TO...
  • I-69 on federal 'fast track' road list

The proposed I-69 project could be considered for "fast-track" development by the federal officials, stated Texas Department of Transportation officials this week. Dubbed the "Nafta highway," I-69 has been proposed as a transportation corridor running from the Texas border through Michigan and into Canada. The highway could eventually replace parts of U.S. 59 running through Texas. This summer, the U.S. Department of Transportation will be looking at a group of proposed, large-scale interstate highways for consideration as part of the Corridors of the Future program. Should I-69 be chosen as one of the Corridors, it would then receive "aggressive" support...

Judicial Watch says Donald Rumsfeld and other U.S. Defense Department officials have met with other countries' officials to discuss effectively erasing the borders between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The public-interest group Judicial Watch has released documents pertaining to a meeting last fall in Banff, Alberta (Canada), called the "North American Forum," which was attended by former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and other high-level U.S. Department of Defense officials. According to the watchdog group, the meeting was put on by a government agency that wants to "harmonize" the laws throughout North America. The North American Forum was sponsored by the...

TGIF! Earlier this week I thought I'd want to skip the OFST due to the disaster in Nawlins. But after reading lefties actually blame Katrina on Bush, blame the resulting flooding on Bush and then blame the rioting on Bush, I need to unwind in a big way. So, without further ado: Not silly, but...just, awww...
