Here's a 29 minute 57 second video of the Shindig Halloween Show from 1965. The only copy available available has a missing five minute segment that had four cut songs including Boris Karloff singing The Monster Mash! The missing audio segment was recorded by Lionelatwill in 1965, when he was only a kid, (a smart kid) and those missing minutes were edited in to the video from the 13:17 to 19:15 section. I edited some of the show's other video clips and then synched to Lionelatwil's audio. Here's the closest thing to the complete episode available. Enjoy the blast from...

I was driving with a younger relative this morning and had on the Sirius/XM 70's station in which Casey Kasem was counting down the Top 40 from the week of 7/12/75. One of the songs in the countdown was "Please Mr. Please" by Olivia Newton-John in which she urges a fellow bar-fly not to play a certain song on the bar-room jukebox as it reminded her of an old love. So as she repeatedly sings the verse "Please, Mr., please, don't play B-17", my young relative eventually pipes up to ask me what she means by "B-17". Is it the...

Happy Australia Day to our readers Down Under. The future shows up so fast in Oz that it's already Post-Australia Day in Australia, but the national holiday takes longer to work its way around to my neck of the woods, and the great merit of our tardy overseas jubilations is that they don't seem to be afflicted by the paroxysms of self-loathing, virtue-signaling and guilt-tripping with which the Aussie media now observe the occasion (which may be why my old chum Julie Bishop is celebrating the day from the safe distance of Earl's Court). Anyway, this is the first Australia...
