Gone but not forgotten. The 2023 Oscars took time to share some love and respect for all of the beloved entertainment icons who died over the last year during the show's gala ceremony.
John Travolta took to the stage at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, to introduce the emotional In Memoriam segment, featuring a performance from Lenny Kravitz.

I was wondering when Lenny Kravitz died.
Get back to me when all these fakes are marching in the streets of Chicago, LA and other cities while protesting the butchering of fellow Americans.
As long as Travolta promises no more commercials.......please......
Lenny Kravitz is still with us my friend
scientology must have stock in T-Mobile....I can’t imagine how much they’d of had to pay Travolta to do that cheesy ad......not to mention it debuted as superbowl commercial.
He even looks like a motorcycle leather wearing fag ‘bear’.
Same!
In their defense, the Oscars is FOR a specific community. They have every right to commemorate their dead members. You have every right not to care.
As political as the people are, it’s their union.
And what cities are you marching in this week? What an utterly bizarre post.
He is an actor.
Lol. So you don’t believe him capable of sorrow or grief.
I put this up here because I lost my mother nearly 2 years ago, now. I get the pain. He lost his wife in 2020. You continue to grieve and you cry easily I find over many things you don’t expect. He was close to Olivia Newton John. I find no problem believing he could feel this way when talking about her.
I now sympathize with grievers, regardless of their political ideas, of which I’ve seen him attacked for, here. I hoped for better but these days people don’t seem to know how to have empathy or compassion or just realize they do not know if someone is feeling these things or not and to let it go, giving the benefit of the doubt.
But no. There are those who have to spout off something negative and nasty.
He was choked up abut Olivia Newton John
then:
...ncluding three-time Oscar winning singer-songwriter/composer Burt Bacharach — who died on Feb. 8, 2023, at the age of 94 — as well as Oscar-winning singer Irene Cara, who died on Nov. 25, 2022, and beloved electronic composer Vangelis, who died at age 79 on May 17, 2022.
Oscar winners Louise Fletcher was also honored, as were Oscar-nominated screen legends Angela Lansbury and James Caan. Groundbreaking French filmmaker and honorary Oscar recipient Jean-Luc Godard was also remembered, alongside German-born director and Oscar nominee Wolfgang Petersen.
...also recalled the lives and legacies of talented stars such as Ray Liotta and Raquel Welch, among many other late Hollywood icons.

And there was this, too:
Oscar did something right for once.
what are you talking about?
Several people as usual left out, biggest may have been Actor Paul Sorvino.
Yet they left out Paul Sorvino
Angela Lansbury and Louise Fletcher were honored together? Poor guy making the introductions: “Jessica F—, wait, Louise? Louise Fletcher!”
Wait... Halyna Hutchins was Ukrainian? Great, that makes Baldwin a WAR CRIMINAL!!! (I’d better be quieter saying that... he’ll become a hero on FR.)
Wow. Yes, Sorvino should’ve been there.
