Who says bromance is dead? Our ever-fickle ex-prez Donald Trump has found a new fave in an old enemy: disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, on whom he basically showered praise from his Truth Social account for his handling of New York’s COVID crisis by contrasting it favorably with that of chief GOP rival Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis. And Cuomo, a founding member of his own fan club, kindly reciprocated, tweeting that “Donald Trump tells the truth, finally. New York got hit first and worst but New Yorkers acted responsibly. Florida’s policy of denial allowed Covid to spread and...

The silence is deafening as the vast majority of CUNY Board of Trustees refused to weigh in Wednesday as outrage over a law school graduate’s now notorious “hate-filled” commencement speech continues to mount — and the school’s dean faces calls to be fired. Just five of CUNY’s 17 board members have publicly denounced law school graduate Fatima Mousa Mohammed’s May 12 commencement speech calling for a “revolution” to take on the legal system’s “white supremacy.” She also blasted the NYPD as “fascist” and accused Israel of indiscriminately murdering Palestinians, sparking widespread condemnation and calls for the public university to be...

“We’re just down to the technical changes that we’re having conversations about. So we don’t have the final version yet but it is something conceptually I do support,” Gov. Kathy Hochul told reporters in New York City on Wednesday. People convicted of sex crimes are explicitly ineligible, according to the legislative language, which has no effect on media reports concerning past crimes. The proposal would allow certain employers like law enforcement agencies, courts, prosecutors, schools, and even Uber to access sealed records. The DMV and government officials could also view rap sheets when people respectively apply for driving-related jobs and...

Dave Burt, CEO of investment research company DeltaTerra Capital, made millions off the subprime mortgage crisis while working for New York-based Cornwall Capital. Cornwall’s success was later profiled in Michael Lewis’ bestselling book “The Big Short,” which detailed the lead-up to the 2008 economic collapse.

Imagine Earth's surface is like a stack of pancakes. The pancakes, or layers of soil and rocks, may appear fairly evenly stacked and fluffy. Over time though, the stack can become compressed, thinner and shorter. Scientists observe this downward motion of land, called land subsidence, across the planet. While some regions of land experience uplift, many parts of Earth's surface are sinking - fast. Scientists are especially concerned for sinking locations near the coast, which are at a higher risk for flooding as sea levels rise in a warming world. Hurricanes and extreme rainfall events can also bring more damage...

If the pandemic brought us too close for comfort to one of life’s certainties — death, that is — then it also got many Americans thinking about the other one: taxes. Or at least it seems that way considering how many Americans chose to move, and in doing so picked states that offer less of a wallop on the wallet taxwise. Two of the most populated and highest taxing states in the country — California and New York — lost about $92 billion in income over two years as a result of the recent exodus. Here’s what’s driving this great...

A former worker at New York's Row Hotel has come forward to reveal the disgusting conditions migrants newly arrived in Manhattan are keeping their hotel rooms, which the city is footing the bill for. Carlos Arellano, who no longer works for the once luxury hotel, has described the premises as a 'free for all' of drugs, sex and violence and should be shut down. Almost all of the 1,300 rooms set across 28 floors of the hotel have been turned over to host migrants, with the city paying $500-a-night for the migrants to be housed.
