A Long Island man was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of a man whom he caught stealing the wheels off his car this week, cops said.

Jacob Alvarenga Mejia, 28, was at his home on Jericho Turnpike in Bellerose Village around 1:30 a.m. May 13, when he spotted three men trying to steal the wheel rims and tires from his parked 2023 Toyota Highlander, Nassau County Police said.

Mejia walked outside with a large kitchen knife and stabbed one of the men, Luis Pena, 22, of the Bronx, multiple times in the upper torso, authorities said.

The trio fled, and the wounded man was taken to a hospital in the Big Apple by the other two alleged thieves, police said.

He was pronounced dead there, cops said.

Mejia was arrested around 8 a.m. Thursday, following a “thorough investigation,” with NYPD assistance, Nassau cops said.

You know, NYC was a better place when it was run by the mob. a guy could buy protection and this stuff didn’t happen.

Violent crime through the roof yet there seems to be a never ending line of people being arrested, prosecuted and caged for attempting to defend themselves and their property. There is something seriously wrong here.

Doctor: "I now pronounce you dead."

Victim: "I want a second opinion."

good guy did something, so they will throw the book at him, if the criminal had knifed the victim he wouldn’t even be in jail.

Instead he could have called the police who would have done... nothing. Crime is pretty much legal now unless it’s doing the police’s job which they won’t do anyway.

Take it to trial .... even in NY I doubt a jury would convict him. And if this happens more and more, it will certainly cut down on thefts.

1. The mob only wants 10%.
2. The mob doesn’t forcibly indoctrinate children for 15 years, teaching them that what it does isn’t unethical.
3. If you buy protection from the mob, you actually get protected.

The mob, or whatever’s left of it, may well see this as a business opportunity.

I haven’t been called for jury duty in years. Neither has hubby. Neither have a lot of Trump supporters/Republicans conservatives we know.

Despite the fact that arrests have been up for years.

Wanna bet Deep State has found a way to get around jury nullification?

Conservatives aren’t being called for jury duty in NYS.

Betcha...

You are absolutely correct!
The blame falls on that original RINO, John Lindsey...
He owns the title: “The NYC Destroyer...

May he roast in hell...

“...if the criminal had knifed the victim he wouldn’t even be in jail.”

But that’s the problem. The “If” leaves it open for the cops to arrest the stabber.

New York does not have a stand your ground law. State law explicitly imposes a duty to retreat before resorting to deadly force outside the home.

So unless the thief attacked him, he can’t harm the thief. I’m actually surprised they didn’t go after murder 2 but he did walk to the thief after he selected a kitchen knife within his home. In some states the considered premeditated. Possible murder 1.

The thief also “RE-MEDITATED” the actions he performed.

You have to declare party affiliation when you register to vote don’t you?

That how they do it if you do.

But I’m a registered Dem.

My local hacks know better than to stop for my support any longer.

They might have squealed.

But I’m also a Trump donor.

Multiple times.

And anyone can scan FEC records.
