The ABC, CBS and NBC evening news shows once again proved why the American people should treat their coverage of President Joe Biden’s economy like the deceptive propaganda that it is. The U.S. national debt reached a scary milestone when it surged over a whopping $33 trillion, The New York Times reported Sept. 18 based on newly available Treasury Department data. The development ironically comes amidst left-wing media outlets like The Times bashing House Republicans for daring to push for deep cuts in wasteful government spending. To put this into perspective, the new daunting figure means that “every household in...

Anchorman Brian Williams, a 28-year veteran of NBC News and MSNBC, said Tuesday that he is leaving the company at the end of this year. “This is the end of a chapter and the beginning of another,” Williams said in a statement. “There are many things I want to do, and I’ll pop up again somewhere.” For the past 5 years, Williams has anchored “The 11th Hour,” an end-of-the-day newscast and political talk program. CNN Business reported in August that his contract was expiring in the next six months and that he wanted to move off the late-night hour. His...

During the roundtable discussion segment of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” former “Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw admitted his skepticism of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) chances at the presidency, especially with the success of the economy. Brokaw said he did not see how anyone would say they were for socialism, given the nation’s current economic position. “I think, Chuck, that frankly among younger voters that’s a possibility for him. But with a strong economy, it’s really hard to see how a lot of people will step up and say, ‘I’m for socialism."

All of NBC’s bleeding-heart coverage of tattered American race relations – including the racial struggles of Michelle Obama – might sound awfully tinny if they don’t keep black anchorman Lester Holt in the Nightly News anchor chair. In a new Brian Williams story at the Daily Beast, “a prominent black broadcast journalist who knows Holt” told them: “If Brian does not come back and Lester does not get the job, it’s going to get ugly. You can only imagine.” It would seem odd for them to exile Williams and then turn to Savannah Guthrie or someone else other than Holt,...

The Center for American Progress partnered with Maria Shriver on lib, NBC promoted report. Not only did NBC allow their special anchor Maria Shriver to promote her own report on “Nightly News,” they did it without disclosing that it was made in partnership with a group that liberal billionaire George Soros gave $7.3 million to. In “The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Pushes Back From the Brink,” which was published on Jan. 11, an outspokenly liberal nun, Sister Joan Chittister, took aim at religious attitudes in America that “devalue” and marginalize women. Shriver was invited to the White House on...

No matter how much money any government - federal, state or local - puts into public education, it's never enough in some people's eyes. A July 1 "NBC Nightly News" segment detailed a new use of tax payer dollars in one of the worst performing, financially struggling school systems in the country - the Washington, D.C. public school system. They are paying school children with taxpayer funds, part of a social experiment to improve school participation at the middle school level. --more with video--

Between the very cold winter in many places and everyone including Vanity Fair focused on the economic downturn, many in the news media took a vacation from global warming alarmism. But on April 6, NBC brought the hype back with yet another story about the threat of melting ice caps. Anchor Brian Williams introduced an "Our Planet" segment by reminding viewers that the Obama administration was remaining active on the issue of climate change. "The Obama administration is calling for greater protection of the earth's polar regions, including limits on tourism," Williams said. "Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made the...

“NBC Nightly News” nabob Brian Williams came under fire yesterday after he reportedly beat a hasty retreat from his MC duties at the Congressional Medal of Honor Society soiree in Boston to appear on “Saturday Night Live.” One event participant griped to the Track that the newsie “was there for the reception, then kicked off the program around 7:30 and was out of there by 8:30.” And shortly after 11:30, Williams was “Live from New York!” Six months ago, we’re told, the NBC anchorman had re-upped to host the annual Patriot Awards gala that honored, in addition to the 61...

Though Katie Couric has yet to take her seat as the new CBS Evening News anchor, the former Today show co-host is already a more familiar personality than her NBC and ABC counterparts. Asked to give their general impressions of each of the three TV journalists in a single word, 66% could offer up an opinion of Couric, compared with fewer than half who could offer a response for Brian Williams or for Charles Gibson. By wide margins, most Americans who know them have positive things to say about each of the new evening news anchors – good is by...

by Mark Finkelstein July 19, 2006 - 08:08 It's been a tough week for the MSM. You just know they'd like to find a way spin events in Lebanon and Israel for purposes of criticizing the Bush administration. But one senses they have had a tough time getting traction. Even for our liberal media heroes, making common cause with Hezbollah might be a bridge too far. When the MSM is reduced to fixating on a mild four-letter word that Pres. Bush let fly, and to second-guessing tactics - as opposed to goals - you know the media's Bush-bashing cupboard is...

Why Jon Stewart isn't funny By Michael Kalin | March 3, 2006 THE SELECTION of Jon Stewart as the host for Sunday night's 2006 Oscars undoubtedly marks a career milestone for the aspiring king of late-night comedy. Unfortunately, however, the ascension of Stewart and ''The Daily Show" into the public eye is no laughing matter. Stewart's ever-increasing popularity among young viewers directly correlates with the declining influence of progressive thought in America. Coincidence? I think not. Let me explain.

In tonight's broadcast, Lisa Myers contributed a report about young Saudi terrorists fighting US forces in Iraq. The report included interviews of some of their families and commentary on the origins of these terrorists. The most remarkable aspect of this report was Myers' use of the word "terrorist" instead of "militant" or "insurgent" to describe these terrorists. It has been some time since I've seen an Old Media report use the word "terrorist" other than when quoting a source.

12/1/04 Anybody watch the special 2-hour Tom Brokaw Retrospective this past Friday night? Me neither. But today we celebrate the reason for the big deal: the retirement of Tom Brokaw after 20 years anchoring NBC Nightly News. Tonight's broadcast will be his last sit-down at the anchor desk! Brokaw saw himself has unbiased: "The idea that we would set out, consciously or unconsciously, to put some kind of ideological framework over what we are doing is nonsense." (on C-SPAN's Washington Journal, 5/25/01) While it is true that Brokaw may have spent less time in the crosshairs of media bias activists...
