Victor Shi loving Kamala Harris's new 'nickname' SO MUCH only makes this funnier. See, MALA can mean a couple of different things ... and it's not what he thinks. Oh sure, they can push the MALA (Make America Love Again) nonsense but those of us with brains in our heads know it's anything but that. But first, let's allow Vic to really make a fool of himself: A friend just sent me this & I love it so much. pic.twitter.com/yPWplky2a6 — Victor Shi (@Victorshi2020) August 30, 2024 He loves it so much. Ha. HA ha. HA HA HA HA HA....

The White House issued a brutal response Monday to what it said was the "inappropriate" nickname President Biden has been given by critics of his support for Israel amid its war with Hamas terrorists. Dubbed "Genocide Joe," Biden has increasingly become the target of far-left protests across the country, including by some in his own party accusing him of supporting an effort to wipe out Gaza and the Palestinian people. "We're not worried about nicknames and bumper stickers. I mean, it's First Amendment free speech. The president's focused on … making sure that we can continue to support Israel as...

In remarks Thursday at a Maryland college, President Biden took a swipe at former President Trump for being one of two presidents who left office with fewer jobs than when he entered. In an effort to sell “Bidenomics,” his economic plan that intends to build from the bottom up and middle out, Biden coined a new nickname for his predecessor: Donald “Hoover” Trump.

It doesn’t get much more Northern Virginia than this. Traffic woes and construction delays are daily gripes on the local Facebook group, “Western Prince William Chatter.” Then Steve came along -- and brought joy to the group's 20,000-plus members. "It seems he is the light at the end of the tunnel when you're STUCK in that horrible traffic! Thanks for entertaining us Steve and for those calling him Bob, just no," one Facebooker wrote. Before WPWC members gave him a name, Steve was simply known as a rubber tire crane. He came to the Manassas area to lift 10 concrete...

President Trump dismissed the youngest candidate in the Democratic field by comparing him to a caricature created decades before Pete Buttigieg was even born. “Alfred E. Neuman cannot become president of the United States,” Trump said when asked by Politico what he thought of Buttigieg, the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Ind. The reference to the gaptoothed, big-eared boy made famous as a mascot for Mad magazine did just as much to show Trump’s age as Buttigieg’s. The magazine used the illustration on its cover back in 1956 as a write-in candidate for president. While fairly ubiquitous in pop culture,...

Trump really has a knack for nicknames! He uses them to define his opposition. Tonight in Pennsylvania at a huge rally, Trump dubbed liberal Democrat Sen. Bob Casey, “Sleepin Bob!” Perfect! Trump was campaigning for GOP Senate Candidate Lou Barletta, who hopes to replace “Sleepin Bob!” . . . .

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush's decision to nickname a South Carolina politician "Hurricane Katrina" is being criticized for what political observers say is insensitive to the victims of the 2005 disaster, CNN reports. According to the cable network, Bush was trying to make a joke about South Carolina state Sen. Katrina Shealy, who's been the only woman in the state Senate for the past three years. But in giving her the nickname, Bush conjured up memories of his brother, former President George W. Bush, and what many called his inept handling of Hurricane Katrina's aftermath that killed more than 1,800...

A meal in the White House mess before taping the “Between Two Ferns” episode credited with boosting enrollment in ObamaCare, gave comedian Zach Galifianakis the idea for a new nickname for President Obama. “Before we went to interview the president, I ate in the White House with his staff - you know, young, six to eight of them. There’s a restaurant in the White House,” Galifianakis said during an appearance on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” “You don’t have to pay, but there’s a dessert menu,” the comedian continued. “And on the dessert menu, there’s something called Chocolate Freedom.”...

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) -- Now that Arkansas State University Chancellor Robert Potts has accepted a recommendation to change the school's Indian nickname, the school is preparing to pick a new mascot. Potts announced yesterday that ASU would shed its Indian name and mascot. The NCAA has a ban on ethnically or racially hostile or abusive nicknames, mascots and imagery at championship events. Arkansas State was one of the schools found in violation of the policy.

July 5, 2007 - It might be a long time before we get another Daisuke Matsuzaka. The superstar pitcher from Japan has been as good as advertised in his first season with the Boston Red Sox, but I’m not talking about his talent. I’m talking about his sparkling resume for a truly classic nickname. Nicknames are a grand American tradition—in sports, in pop culture, in politics, in life—and when Matsuzaka arrived here, he gave us a golden opportunity to christen him anew. So far this season, Matsuzaka has struck out 110 hitters in 106 innings. He throws at least six...

Lawsuit: "I Quit" nickname illegal in electionPosted: March 14, 2006, 05:34 AM PST NEW ORLEANS (AP) - One challenger in each of New Orleans seven assessors districts is running with the nickname "I.Q.", short for, "I Quit." All seven have promised that if they're elected, they would use their 90-thousand dollar salaries to hire a professional appraisal firm. But two lawsuits scheduled for hearings today in Civil District Court contend that the nickname is deceptive, and therefore illegal. The defendants are Chase "I.Q. Jones in the fourth District, and Ron "I.Q." Mazier in the fifth. The suit against Mazier has...

I know this seems like a stupid question, and, I'm sure it is, but I keep seeing headlines all over with a certain nickname for Rove that I thought was created by the Left. Then, tonight, Jon Stewart says - that's the PRESIDENT's nickname for Rove . Was Stewart kidding? What is Rove's nickname?

Inspired by another thread about the Massachusetts state motto, I think it is time for Virginia to dump her duplicity. We have 2 mottos ("The Old Dominion" and "Mother of Presidents") which we should whittle down to one so visiting Floridians will not be confused. So how about it ? Let's have some suggestions. Winner will be announced whenever this thread dies.
