Was Archie a Political Prophet of some sort?Archie Bunker gives what's his name a new nick name. I will only refer to what's his name by his new nickname from now on!
Awesome!
GO VIRAL, YOUNG MAN .. GO VIRAL !
I listened to the whole video but have missed the nickname.
What is it?
So funny I could cry...
From the neck up ...
Meathead....dead from the neck up.
Pure genius!! Thanks for posting this video. The new nickname is perfect!!
Carroll O’Connor and the liberal writers believed they were creating a hateful, blue collar bigot. Sadly, the audience identified with Archie Bunker’s complaints and he became a folk hero.
Unintended consequences.
Unintended political prophet?
Indeed;)
Was Archie a Political Prophet of some sort?
Probably not, but the writers of the show sure were, and I’m betting they were clueless, to the ultimate outcome.
Now I’m also sure that Archie Bunker for President wasn’t on their minds either, but will anyone argue the point he would be preferable to the present occupant. A thousand time more preferable.
It’s in da mail!!
Funny they had Archie talking about arming all the passenger’s to stop skyjacking... yet ironically since Flight 93...the idea that passengers must fight back is the the norm...
Got my vote!
woohoo!!
Around the world it goes!!!
Almost everybody will be calling him Meat Head before you know it!!
:-)
Just pass the pistol out!!!
the only thing I didn’t like was they would get the pistols back at the end of the flight. I would want to keep it!!
You are right, the same thing that happened with Michael J. Fox and Family Ties. Like Archie Bunker, Alex as portrayed by Fox became the hero.
Rob Reiner was the intended star of All in the Family and Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter Birney were the intended stars of Family Ties - you know - as the enlightened liberals having to put up with Archie Bunker or Alex P. Keaton. Unintended consequences indeed, except that all the idiot liberals got rich due to their huge miscalculation. I think Norman Lear produced both.
Lucky for Lear and the liberals associated with ‘All in the Family’ the show made a fortune.
While the audience did not always approve of Archie’s biases - we all appreciated his disgust with ‘the powers that be’ and government interference. Sadly, it has gotten worse.
