Britain’s biggest Islamic authorities believe that child sexual abuse within the Muslim community is “underreported” because it is a “taboo subject”. The Muslim Women’s Network (MWN) presented written testimony to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) stating that the “scale of the problem is hidden” because victims are “forced” into silence.
