Many people are ANNOYED by the antics of people during an event they would like to watch. The streaker on a football field... The 'Mute button' was a feature that has made watching TV bearable for many people. If you would threaten to take this feature away from people, there could be many more cases of people going 'crazy' and going around shooting people.
