The parents of Ebola patient Ashoka Mukpo discuss the presumption that their son contracted Ebola from washing a car.

MONROVIA, Liberia—Ashoka Mukpo, an American freelance journalist diagnosed with Ebola, and the NBC News team he worked with here will be flown to the U.S., as the epidemic sweeping West Africa continues to have international repercussions. Mr. Mukpo is scheduled to be picked up Sunday night in Liberia and will be transported to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, his father, Mitchell Levy, said Friday

According to NBC, Mukpo started showing symptoms on Wednesday, when he ran a fever and began feeling tired and achy. He was tested for the virus Thursday and it came back positive just under 12 hours later, the network reported on its website Friday. The other four members of the NBC News team are feeling well and not showing symptoms of the Ebola virus, according to the network. Mukpo is the fifth American infected with Ebola.
