Candy, chips and a helping of ObamaCare. It's already disrupted the health-care marketplace. Now, the Affordable Care Act is infiltrating vending machines. Yep, a provision in the Affordable Care Act requires vending machines to display the calorie content of all food items. The FDA finalized the regulations April 3. If you know the calorie content of an item, you might make a more healthy choice. Or so the thinking goes.

I was so fed up yesterday after hearing that Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurants have been working with Michelle Obama on her "Let's Move" childhood obesity campaign and have decided to no longer offer french fries with children's meal menu items. I mere told them that I didn't appreciate their attempt to usurp my role as a parent, my children should be able to order fries on a night out at a restaurant if they would like to (because we eat nutritiously at home), and in the future my family will be eating at restaurants that honor my freedom...

HYATTSVILLE, Md. — Michelle Obama says a pledge by the Olive Garden, Red Lobster and four other restaurant chains to serve healthier meals is a "breakthrough moment" for the industry. The Darden restaurant company pledged Thursday to reduce calories and sodium by 20 percent over 10 years. It will also make a fruit or vegetable side dish and low-fat milk standard with kids' meals. If a child wants French fries, an adult will have to ask for them.

It shouldn’t surprise me the new levels of hatred that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh finds each week for his radio show or that there is an audience out here who actually finds him credible. Like a bully last week, Limbaugh took aim at America’s First Lady Michelle Obama. The former-fat guy criticized the First Lady’s efforts to curb childhood obesity by pointing out her diet and criticized her “Lets Move” campaign which encourages youths to eat more fruit and vegetables and to include exercise in their daily lifestyles. How pathetic, Rush. Like many, I admire the First Lady...

America’s first lady is hell bent on fighting the obesity epidemic. For now it is focused on the nation’s children. She has interfered in school lunch and snack programs, and has even gotten one of the largest companies in the world, Wal-Mart, to comply with her plea to sell foods with less sugar and salt. In a Daily Caller op-ed, Orit Sklar, spokeswoman for My food. My Choice! wrote, “Now, one of the largest companies in the world is the vehicle through which all American food and health policy will flow. As Wal-Mart begins to institute the five-year plan, aimed...

Michelle Obama Cartoon: First Lady Drawn As Fat, Binging On Burgers. Presidential First Lady, Michelle Obama has been pegged as a gluttonous, portly hypocrite in a cartoon drawing posted on Biggovernment.com One year ago, Mrs. Obama initiated her "Let's Move!" campaign to thwart childhood obesity by stressing the importance of activity and nutritious eating in young adults. The problem is she has been caught on camera more than once eating foods that contradict her movement. Couple that with the recent revealing of the fatty foods served at The White House's Super Bowl party and Conservatives are having a field day...
  • Michelle Obama to Impose Socialist Salad Bars on Schools

f First Lady Michelle Obama has her way, every public school cafeteria across this great nation will have a salad bar full of lettuce, carrots, and communism. The First Lady's Let's Move Salad Bars To Schools program aims to put 6,000 kid-sized salad bars in schools. Each salad bar costs $2,500, and the whole program costs $15 million. So on top of promoting a vegetable-y socialist agenda, they're also expensive! (Schools are being encouraged to raise part of the money themselves.) Big government run amock! The goal of course is to hoodwink children into eating their vegetables. >>> The goal...

What this country needs is a crop of healthy, hunger-free kids -- and now, thanks to the hectoring of Michelle Obama and the terrible swift presidential pen of her husband, it has one: the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. No more fat kids is now the law of the land: Eat the broccoli; leave the cannoli. For nothing less than national security is at stake. "Military leaders tell us that when more than one in four young people are unqualified for military service because of their weight, childhood obesity isn't just a public health threat, it's not just an...

People often turn to their faith to ease their minds. Now first lady Michelle Obama is hoping people will turn to churches, temples and synagogues to lose weight as well. The first lady launched a new addition to her Let's Move! campaign. Things might be changing at local services. Starting Monday, faith-based organizations of all kinds will begin a new crusade to end childhood obesity in a generation. It's called Let's Move: Faith and Communities, and the First AME Church of Los Angeles is leading the charge....
