COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- Wake Forest completed the finest road performance in Atlantic Coast Conference history against a team it had trouble beating anywhere. Now, after defeating Maryland 38-24 Saturday night, the No. 20 Demon Deacons will take their successful road show to Florida to play for the league championship. "Wake Forest (10-2, 6-2) will be seeking its first ACC title since 1970 next Saturday against Georgia Tech in Jacksonville. The teams did not face each other this season. After a disabled woman's cat started a house fire, her specially trained dog came to the rescue, then died trying to help the cat still in the house. Jamie Hanson said the 13-year-old dog named Jesse brought the phone so she could call 911 and also brought her artificial leg. "She got me outside and then she heard the cat upstairs and she went up there to get the cat and she wouldn't come back to me," Hanson, 49, said at a news conference Monday at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where she was being treated for her injuries. She...

As I have been traveling through the country on my musical tour, I have been thinking about the upcoming election, which is less than a month away. So far, I have been in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and currently I am in Washington DC, the epicenter of political activity in our country. It has been a while since I communicated through a statement on my website, since I have been busy preparing for the tour. But I have been following the various congressional and senate races by reading the local newspapers in these states, and once again it is so...

The images you see during this commercial are Vietnam War protestors, the peace sign, Nixon waving goodbye before he gets on his helicopter, and Katrina flooding. What a depressing commercial. Kind of defeatist if you ask me. Thoughts?

A Katy music teacher bitten by a bat returned to work Tuesday as another bat captured at the school tested negative for rabies. A public health official said students are not at risk of contracting rabies from the Mayde Creek High School orchestra teacher because he is not infectious. "He's perfectly fine once he has had his shots," said Rita Obey, of the Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services Department. Michael Jones, who was bitten Monday before school, declined to comment. He began rabies-vaccination treatment at Christus St. Catherine's Hospital in Katy as a precaution. As Jones was about...

Perhaps it's time to recolonize the Middle East. If we get our NATO allies and Russia together with us on the same page and invade the entire Muslim Middle East and re-establish European run colonial governments, we could save a lot of money on oil and put an end to government sponsored terrorism. Together, this alliance would have 90% of the world's military might. Without the mother's milk of oil revenue, it will be far more difficult fot terrorists to obtain the financing for nuclear weapon development or purchase. Russia could administer Iran, France could administer Syria, Britain could administer...
