Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen, one of the iconic figures in drag racing history, died June 10. He was 81. McEwen, voted No. 16 on NHRA's Top 50 Drivers lists in 2001, competed in both Funny Car and Top Fuel, and although he wasn't one of drag racing's most prolific winners, he certainly was one of its most colorful.

Nepali man bites snake to death in revenge attack KATHMANDU (Reuters) - A Nepali man who was bitten by a cobra snake bit it back and killed the reptile in a tit-for-tat attack, a newspaper said on Thursday. Mongoose will kill cobras more often then cobras will kill mongoose. The mongoose are born snake killers and are part of their prey species. They have extremely fast reflexes and are very intelligent, and know how to use the snakes weaknesses against it. They keep their eyes completely on the snake and watch its movements and can almost calculate exactly when the snake will strike. Also mustelids like the mongoose seem to have some kind of resistance to snake venom. So even if the snake managed to strike the mongoose say in the leg I doubt it would kill it....
