White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed Tuesday she did not know she misled the press about the discovery of additional classified documents in President Joe Biden’s private residence last week after she said the search was completed. During the daily briefing last Thursday, Jean-Pierre misled the American public on six different occasions when she said the search for classified documents in Biden’s position was completed on Wednesday. Reports on Saturday revealed that more classified documents were discovered on Thursday, which refuted Jean-Pierre’s claim that the search for documents was completed.

Former President Donald Trump provided “misleading information about the financial situation” of his hotel in Washington while he was in office, according to the House Oversight and Reform Committee. The committee, which recently obtained documents from the General Services Administration, found that Trump reported his hotel in downtown D.C. brought in $150 million in income while he served in the White House, but the hotel actually incurred more than $70 million in losses. “By filing these misleading public disclosures, President Trump grossly exaggerated the financial health of the Trump Hotel,” the committee said Friday in a news release. The Trump...

The Obama administration granted a license letting Iran access the United States financial system despite officials’ pledges that they would prohibit it, according to a draft report from the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. “On Feb. 24, 2016, the Treasury Department issued a specific license to Bank Muscat to authorize the conversion of Iran’s rials to euros through ‘any United States depository institution …,’” the draft report said. “Even after the specific license was issued, U.S. government officials maintained in congressional testimony that Iran would not be granted access to the U.S. financial system.” “The Obama administration during the negotiation...

Israeli security forces announced Wednesday that they had foiled a global jihad plot to blow up the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem's Convention Center. But U.S. officials told NBC News they couldn't confirm the threat, and hinted that the Shin Bet may even be misleading the Israeli government regarding the link between the cell and Al Qaeda. The Shin Bet went public Wednesday with the arrests of three Palestinian Arabs who were captured a month earlier, and said that the suspects had been recruited by Al Qaeda over the Internet by an operative working for Ayman al-Zawahiri –...

In advance of a critical vote Monday on a border security deal offered by Republican Sens. Bob Coker and John Hoeven, the president of the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement union urged senators to vote ‘no’ on the amendment. National ICE Council President Chris Crane issued an aggressive statement calling on lawmakers to vote “no” on the amendment to the Senate’s immigration reform bill and called out Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio for misleading law enforcement on promises of more interior enforcement. “Senator Corker — a lead sponsor of the 1,200 page amendment being voted on today — has admitted that...

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano lied to Congress about her department’s special centers where state and local police could share information with the federal government about terrorism and other crimes. This accusation against Napolitano appears, shockingly enough, in a bipartisan report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. The so-called “fusion center” program, which Napolitano asserted to Congress was a smashing success, had “serious problems,” according to the report, which also stated, “The findings of both the 2010 and 2011 assessments contradict public statements by [Homeland Security] officials including congressional testimony from Ms. Napolitano.” Ms. Napolitano and other officials consistently...

In the fall of 2008, McCain left the campaign trail in a near panic to return to Washington where he voted in favor of a bailout despite significant Republican opposition and concerns expressed at the time. Below is a list of seven of the top 20 (including the top five) donors to John McCain from 2003-2008 as compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics. It reads like a who’s who of companies that received bailout cash. In fact, while these companies raised John McCain over $1.7 million, they were bailed out to the tune of some $135 billion.

Judge Richard Goldstone.A U.N. investigator who accused Israel of war crimes was misled by false witnesses and Palestinian misinformation, charged the chief medical officer of an Israeli army brigade that was previously falsely accused of committing a massacre. "You have let yourself be misled by fabrications made by either terrorists or even doctors. ... Did you by any chance try to validate any of these invented and inciting details? Well you didn't!" wrote David Zangen, an Israeli reservist officer and physician. Zangen, in an open letter published in Israel's Maariv newspaper, was addressing South African Judge Richard Goldstone, who penned...

WASHINGTON -- Central Intelligence Agency Director Leon E. Panetta has told lawmakers that CIA officials misled Congress "for a number of years" since 2001, according to a letter released Wednesday from six Democratic lawmakers. The lawmakers say the CIA also withheld information about unspecified "significant actions." The letter didn't identify when Mr. Panetta made the statements or to what they referred. "This is similar to other deceptions of which we are aware from other recent periods, " the letter continued. CIA spokesman George Little said "it is not the policy or practice of the CIA to mislead Congress." Mr. Little...

Mousavi Accuses Obama of 'Misleading the World' Sunday, June 21, 2009 1:38 PM Author and foreign policy expert Michael Ledeen has published a letter reportedly from the office of Mir Hossein Mousavi, in which the Iranian opposition leader criticizes President Barack Obama for saying Mousavi and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadenijad are "two of a kind." WASHINGTON – Under strong attack from Republicans, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused the CIA and Bush administration of misleading her about waterboarding detainees in the war on terror and sharply rebutted claims she was complicit in its use. "To the contrary ... we were told explicitly that waterboarding was not being used," she told reporters, referring to a formal CIA briefing she received in the fall of 2002. Pelosi said she subsequently learned that other lawmakers were told several months later by the CIA about the use of waterboarding. "I wasn't briefed, I was informed that somebody else had been...

An independent investigator has found that the mayor of San Jose and his top budget aide misled the public and the city council and treated council procedure as a ``mere formality'' when the two men sought to help Norcal Waste Systems get reimbursed for labor costs in excess of its bid. The report by investigator Chris Scott Graham said that Mayor Ron Gonzales and his aide Joe Guerra ``at the very least'' appear to have violated city policies calling for independence and impartiality, and acted in ways that ``were not consistent with the structure of government as set forth in...

WASHINGTON - Judith Miller's boss says the New York Times reporter appears to have misled the newspaper about her role in the CIA leak controversy. In an e-mail memo Friday to the newspaper's staff, Executive Editor Bill Keller said that until Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald subpoenaed Miller in the criminal probe, "I didn't know that Judy had been one of the reporters on the receiving end" of leaks aimed at Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson. "Judy seems to have misled" Times Washington bureau chief Bill Taubman about the extent of her involvement, Keller wrote. Taubman asked Miller in the fall...

The United Nations says it is looking into allegations that a UN document contained false information that caused instability in war-torn central Africa. A former UN employee, the American intelligence analyst William Church, told the BBC the details were added to a public UN report by other UN staff. The report stated Rwanda mounted a military incursion against neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo last year. This false allegation endangered the peace process in DR Congo, he says. 'Serious allegations' The stakes could not be higher. The war in DR Congo, which has spread throughout central Africa, is one of the...

Time for a “shout out” to Jim Lehrer: Many thanks for the following question to John Kerry in the first Presidential Debate: “...you have repeatedly accused President Bush -- not here tonight, but elsewhere before -- of not telling the truth about Iraq, essentially of lying to the American people about Iraq. Give us some examples of what you consider to be his not telling the truth.” To me, this is one of the more important questions that Kerry must answer in this campaign--especially given what we know about Kerry’s track record of nuanced support for the war in Iraq....

Although it is really funny to watch, most of us are getting a bit weary constantly hearing about Dan Rather and his Democratic Party/Kerry campaign-fueled accusations in memogate. This time, the deception of CBS was easily identified and publicly exposed. Unfortunately, that is not always true with the liberal propaganda generally spewed by "Old Media." Quite often, they get away with it. CBS and Dan Rather now want us to believe they were "misled." No they weren't. Terry McAuliffe at DNC and the Kerry campaign had those memos first. CBS admits that their news producer, Mary Mapes, has been searching...
