CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Tropical Depression Mindy developed in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, moved across Florida Wednesday night, and has re-emerged in the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday. Mindy is about 100 miles to the east-southeast of Charleston, SC, and will continue to move further east and away from the Carolina coast into Friday. Mindy does not look to directly impact the Carolinas on Friday, yet it will bring a higher risk for rip currents along the beaches of North and South Carolina into the weekend. FRANKLIN, Tenn. - An arrest warrant issued for Mindy McCready says the country singer has violated her probation on a drug charge, authorities said Wednesday. A judge signed off on the warrant Monday because McCready left Tennessee without getting permission from her probation officer and didn't report to the officer during July, according to Williamson County Sheriff's officials interviewed Wednesday. Authorities said this was McCready's second probation violation, which means she cannot post bond this time and likely will have to serve time in jail. Troubled country singer Mindy McCready has been hospitalized in Florida after an overdose. McCready, 28, was found unconscious Friday in a hotel lobby, according to authorities in Pinellas County, Fla. An incident report did not list the nature of the overdose. Last week, McCready was charged in Arizona with identity theft and other counts. Within the past two years, she has also faced allegations of driving under the influence and a drug violation.
