Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to hold on to their ultra-narrow Senate majority this year in a midterm election cycle that has several of the party’s most vulnerable incumbents facing voters amid rising inflation and surging gas prices. Republicans need to net just one new seat this year to reclaim control of the upper chamber. Still, Democrats are more optimistic about their chances of holding their Senate majority than they are their House majority and are eyeing several opportunities to flip GOP-held seats.

At least three NBA teams have stopped staying at Donald Trump-branded hotels this season in part to avoid any implied association with the new president-elect, according to league sources. Sources told ESPN.com that the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks have moved away from Trump hotels in New York City and Chicago, which bear Donald Trump's name through a licensing agreement.

Gov. Scott Walker is expected to announce Tuesday morning that he plans to put into the state budget a financing plan that includes bonding to help build a multipurpose arena in downtown Milwaukee. MILWAUKEE (AP) U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl has hired a Democratic organizer to begin coordinating his run for re-election in 2006. The Wisconsin Democrat said Tuesday that he hired Michael Teter to start putting the campaign together. Kohl, who turned 70 Monday, announced over the weekend that he is seeking a fourth six-year term in the Senate. The millionaire owner of the Milwaukee Bucks was first elected in 1988 and won re-election in 1994 and 2000. Teter was Wisconsin field director for the Democratic Party's campaign last year.
