Anti-government militia groups have called for “boots on the ground” to defend against a Black militia march planned for Saturday in Louisville. ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The Bernalillo County district attorney filed a lawsuit Monday against the New Mexico Civil Guard, a group that has showed up at protests in military-like uniforms, carrying guns, and telling people they are there to protect property. FLOYD CO., Va. (WSET) -- Floyd County is responding to potential new state gun laws with a militia muster call. The Unorganized Militia of Floyd County will muster at the Floyd County Recreational Park at noon on Saturday, January 18. The group says the purpose of the call is to "preserve tranquility, peace and civil order" with a group of volunteers that will come together in case a full militia is needed to "defend the rights and liberties" of the residents of Floyd County.

RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia's Attorney General is urging lawmakers to toughen hate crime statutes. Mark Herring is re-introducing a series of bills he hopes will address the problem in the Commonwealth. His bills would expand Virginia's definition of a hate crime, put more restrictions on militia groups, and bar anyone convicted of a hate crime from having a gun. The first question you have to ask yourself is what you hope to gain by putting a government target on your back, and those in your family. In 1997 I hosted a national militia meeting on my property in Texas; it was a large encampment of militia leaders and members from all over the country.
