Milblogger project: Send an e-mail of support By Michelle Malkin  •  June 20, 2007 09:35 PM Grim at Blackfive interviewed Col. Simcock of Regimental Combat Team 6. The colonel asked Americans to send letters of support to RCT-6: GRIM: Is there anything that you and your Marines need that we could send you?COL. SIMCOCK: (Chuckles.) I’ll tell you what, the one thing that all Marines want to know about — and that includes me and everyone within Regimental Combat Team 6 — we want to know that the American public are behind us. RICHMOND, Va. - From the front lines of Iraq and Afghanistan to here at home, soldiers blogging about military life are under the watchful eye of some of their own. A Virginia-based operation, the Army Web Risk Assessment Cell, monitors official and unofficial blogs and other Web sites for anything that may compromise security. The team scans for official documents, personal contact information and pictures of weapons or entrances to camps. In some cases, that information can be detrimental, said Lt. Col. Stephen Warnock, team leader and battalion commander of a Manassas-based Virginia National Guard unit working on the operation....

Milblogger BlackFive has just released a new book that contains dispatches from our outstanding men and women of the US military who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. If it weren't for the milbloggers much of the good news from Iraq and Afghanistan would never become widely known by the American people. --- It is the work of over 50 Americans who tell their stories about the experiences around the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In it you will meet: * The Warriors. Snipers, tankers, grunts. Readers who have never heard a shot fired in anger will come closer to...
  • WHAT ARE YOU FOR: SUCCESS OR FAILURE? (SMASH vs. Filner

SATURDAY AFTERNOON, I attended an "Out of Iraq" forum at a local church, featuring a keynote address by anti-war Congressman Bob Filner. After his speech, Filner opened up the floor for questions. He fielded a few softballs from the largely friendly crowd. Then he called on me.

Transcript of Hugh Hewitt's interview with milblogger Austin Bay: Tuesday, June 28 Col. Austin Bay back from the Middle East, after a 51-hour return trip. And yet, he was still more coherent than Ted Kennedy on one of his sobriety days. You can read more of Col. Bay's adventures here, but below is the transcript on Hugh's show earlier this afternoon: HH: Colonel, welcome back to the Hugh Hewitt Show, and welcome back to the U.S. AB: Thanks, Hugh. It's great to be back. HH: I heard you had quite an adventurous return. AB: Yes. Fifty one and half hours...

Lead-in to the President's address tonight. Instead off listening to Senatorial chumps from Massachusetts like Ted Kennedy and John Kerry undermine what is going on in Iraq, let's see what people who have actually been there and served on the ground think. Up first, Matt the paratrooper from Black Five. Here's what he had to say: HH: Good to talk to you, Matt. I want to start with tonight, and the president's...what do you expect the president to say tonight? Black5: Well, you know, I'd expect a couple of things. Of course, he's going to focus on the troops. I've...
