Republican businessman Kevin Rinke has more money to spend on his 2022 gubernatorial campaign than his GOP rivals, but James Craig collected more donations from supporters. Campaign finance statements filed Monday show Rinke gave his own campaign $2 million, technically making him the top fundraiser between Oct. 21 and Dec. 31, 2021. The language in a petition to recall Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for the signing of nine of her executive orders during the COVID-19 pandemic has been approved by the Michigan Board of State Canvassers. Albion resident Chad Baase, 39, was successful in his third attempt at coming up with “clear and factual” language to move forward with the recall petition process. Faithful Catholics mourn election of heretic in Michigan. Catholics faithful to the teaching of the Catholic Church mourned the election of Jennifer Granholm to the governership of Michigan. Granholm, who claims to be Catholic, has been a vocal advocate of abortion and partial-birth abortion in direct defiance of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Her obstinate, post-baptismal denial of the truth about abortion as taught by Pope John Paul II, the U.S. Bishops and her own bishop, Adam Cardinal Maida, renders her a heretic and scandal to the faithful.
