Bottled water was contaminated at store Authorities say they've solved the mystery of how a batch of bottled water got contaminated and made two people sick. Bridgton police say a cleaning product, Lysol, spilled onto a case of Poland Spring water at the Food City supermarket where the water was sold. They said it was an accident. A 40-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl became ill after drinking water from the contaminated jugs. Police found no evidence that the bottles had been tampered with, or that any other location was involved.

Smokers will face a new choice of bars in the new year ahead. While some bars will be entirely smoke-free, including many in the greater Augusta area, others have spent thousands of dollars to build covered annexes for their smoking clientele in preparation for Maine's ban on smoking in bars next year.Maine legislators (AND THE RINO'S INCLUDED) passed the ban on smoking in bars and taverns in June, joining New York, California and Delaware in extending smoke-free environments to one of the last bastions of public indoor smoking.
