I got slippers and coffee.
Now the daughters, OTOH, were very pleased.

The youngest got a shotgun and the eldest, who lives outside the home now, got $300 from Santa.
I get the feeling she wasn't expecting very much this year.

As we stopped at an area we call the tree stand Joe V., a true mountain man at heart, told us city folk about how the yellow snow up here isn't the same as your typical city yellow snow and is actually quite good eatin.  So Steve grabbed a piece a took a bite.  Not to be outdone by his father Stephen made a meal out of the rest.

Yeah, a day off with the family. And a nice craftsman toolset, but I liked the day of to spend with my family a lot more. We were up at 5 am to let the kids open gifts, then my wife and I went back to bed and slept in until almost 10:30. The rest of the day I spent watching "Trading Spaces" with my wife (there was a Christmas marathon on), telling my daughter to turn down the stereo she received and popping in & out of FR for a while. It was a wonderful day.
