Like Reagan, Bush Must Seize Moment Chicago Sun-Times, by Mark Steyn I feel a bit like a guy who's been dating a pleasant lady in the office for a couple of years and suddenly bumps into the gal he always adored in high school. As readers will know, I'm very supportive of George W. Bush, especially on the foreign policy front. But it was unfortunate that a week of 24/7 Ronald Reagan greatest hits on the cable networks should have had to stop once or twice a day to cross to a blinking, groggy Dubya at some G-8 press conference...

John Kerry and Jane Fonda political cartoon.June 2, 2004...Sen. Flip-Flop: here he goes again!By Roger Wm. Hughes If America thought John Kerry was Senator Flip-Flop on the issues, America has become even more amazed as Kerry tries to communicate who and what he is about. First, Kerry was "a better set of choices." Then in typical Kerry style, he changed to be "a better set of choices.” In September of 2003, he discovered the "courage to do what’s right for America." However, somehow that wasn’t "the real deal." So, he became “the real deal.” Kerry then told America to...

It says:...

To grow and create jobs, business needs government to be reasonable. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger understands that and is working to make California's government less onerous to business and job creation.

He can encourage our neighbors in Mexico to do the same. He plans to attend the Border Governors Conference in New Mexico in August, which involves the governors of the states on both sides of the border. We hope he and his staff use the next six months to plan ways to use the conference as a platform to encourage Mexico to embrace Schwarzenegger-style reforms.

Trevor is a junior at Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day Trevor, along with a couple of friends, decided to orchestrate a campaign that he be named the recipient of the "Distinguished African American Student Award" for next year. In the best American political tradition, they printed and plastered throughout the school about 150 posters showing a smiling Trevor giving a thumbs up and encouraging votes for him. The award has been given for eight years on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to a senior selected by teachers. There was only one slight problem....

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: A new Al-Qaeda-style message has been posted on an Islamic website threatening imminent attacks on the United States, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), who translated the posting. The Emergency Response and Research Institute (ERRI) has assessed the translation of the message and believes that despite the generic nature of the claims, it was likely to be authentic and from an Al-Qaeda operative...or someone knowledgeable in Islm and very sympathetic to the cause of the bin-Laden inspired network. However, according to ERRI, it appeared to be a general "call-to-arms" rather than an action message containing...

Pleading God's Glory Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, "Spare thy people, O Lord, and make not thy heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, `Where is their God?'" Joel 2:17God encourages Judah to leverage Himself with the prayer, "Why should they say among the peoples, "Where is their God?'" In essence Moses prayed the same thing: "Why should the Egyptians say, `with evil intent did he bring them forth, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from...

A clear message was sent Oct. 7: Californians demand change. The election of Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor is the culmination of years of frustration created by out-of-touch lawmakers. Californians are tired of the out-of-control spending that continues to drag down our economy. In Schwarzenegger, voters elected a job-friendly, fiscally conservative governor who vows to change the business-as-usual attitude of the legislative majorities in Sacramento.

AS marketing schemes go, the hip-hop music star Nelly risks sending a lot of mixed signals with the name of the new energy drink he's marketing. It's called "Pimp Juice." I could be wrong, but "Pimp Juice" does not sound to me like something that you want to put in your mouth. Either way, you won't get a chance to find out, if certain leaders of black community organizations have their way. In Los Angeles, three organizations called Project Islamic HOPE, the National Alliance for Positive Action, and the National Black Anti-Defamation League staged a press conference last Tuesday (Sept....

Los Angeles Daily News Davis knows his enemy and it is us By Chris Weinkopf Staff Writer To: All Members, Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy From: Chris Weinkopf, VRWC SecretaryRe: Last notice My fellow conspirators, I must be brief, as I suspect our communications are being monitored, not that it much matters at this point. The jig is up. Somehow, Gov. Gray Davis has found us out. He has seen through our plotting, our trickery and our designs. He has figured out that the recall effort is not, in fact, about him, his record or his leadership, but about us and our...

Jailed Muslim cleric issues defiant message By Alex Spillius, South-East Asia Correspondent (Filed: 11/08/2003) More than 3,000 Islamic militants attended a rally in Indonesia yesterday to support the jailed cleric Abu Bakar Bashir, the spiritual leader of the group blamed for last week's attack on a Jakarta hotel and the Bali bombings last year. In a message from his prison cell, where he is awaiting the resumption of his trial for attacks on churches and treason, 64-year-old Bashir said Muslims should strive to impose Islamic law without fear of being labelled terrorists."Do not be afraid of being labelled as trying...

London - A sheepdog roaming away from his owner's farm retrieved a bottle with a message from an ailing homeless man and took it home to his master, allowing Scottish emergency workers to arrive in time to save the man who had not eaten or had any water for days. The Guardian newspaper reported on Friday that Ben the border collie crossed three fields to a deserted farmhouse in the Falkirk area to find the plastic bottle on which Robert Sinclair had scribbled a hasty note. Sinclair, 55, who has lived rough in the area for 27 years, had not...

OSLO, Norway (AP) -- More than 26 years after her father died at sea, a Norwegian woman was shocked to receive a message from him in a bottle. The crinkled note, with her father's handwriting in red marker pen, aroused "powerful feelings" in her, Guri Abelsen said Wednesday. Abelsen said her father, Ola Abelsen, had told her he wrote a message in a bottle which he had thrown into the sea from his fishing boat, Utvik Senior, in February 1977. Later that month, the boat sank with Abelsen and eight other men on board, after disappearing off the Norwegian coast....
