John Kerry and Jane Fonda political cartoon.
June 2, 2004...
Sen. Flip-Flop: here he goes again!
By Roger Wm. Hughes
If America thought John Kerry was Senator Flip-Flop on the issues, America has become even more amazed as Kerry tries to communicate who and what he is about. First, Kerry was "a better set of choices." Then in typical Kerry style, he changed to be "a better set of choices. In September of 2003, he discovered the "courage to do whats right for America." However, somehow that wasnt "the real deal." So, he became the real deal. Kerry then told America to "bring it on." Once again, this was not who and what Kerry was about, so "change starts here." As if Kerry had not put us through enough torturous change, he touted that he would "build a stronger America." How, you might ask, was Kerry to do this? He would do it by his "lifetime of service and strength.
It is no wonder that a single force does not head his staff. How could a single leading voice from the Kerry campaign remain sane when the question is what is the campaign theme of the moment -- the theme that is to remain stable and unchanging that delivers in no more than six or seven words what America can expect from Kerry and his presidency.
Well, the Kerry campaign hopes that their swift boat has finally come upon a sure and swift course that will offer America that constant steady message of what America can be. Thats right, "let America be America again."
Oh from that prophetic ode of Langston Hughes comes hope that the rudderless campaign of Kerry knows who and what they are about at last. However, Hughes poem calls on America to become what it never was. Hughes found America to have never been America because America never offered hope to Black America. Yet, Hughes hoped that America could one day speak to Black Americans spirits and hopes.
Like Langston Hughes, Kerry has found that America has never offered hope to him. He lives still in his mind and spirit on that swift boat in Vietnam. He is still protesting against America with his friends like Jane Fonda. He still hopes that he can "let America be America again."
Let us hope for the sanity of the Kerry campaign staff that Sen. Flip-Flop will flip no more over who and what it is that Kerry is offering America.
Please let me know if you want OFF or ON my Cartoon Ping List. Thanks, :) Linda Eddy
Great 'toon!
Too Effin funny!
I would like to see America become America again , Anm America where the Congress makes the laws and the Judges just see that they are carried out, An America where parents raise their kids instead of aborting them.
Keep me ON the cartoon ping list...this is great!
Far out, man.
Kerry looks like he got some of the brown acid, man.
Good Morning...Hope you like the 'toons.
As for the lame slogan, whoever came up with the lame 'LABA,A' ought to be fired. The Kerry campaign would do better in a 'slogan contest' offering even a fifty dollar prize.
This appeal, coming from a Lib yet; is totally inauthentic; totally lame. And while the question is embedded with a conservative appeal the real question remains; which America? Which America will hyphanated Americans long for? What 'good ol days' is Kerry wanting to return us to? Which generation is he speaking to?
Of course, he does not know - Kerry et al hoping only for some resonance, somehwhere - out there.
The truth is; and the irony; is that if Kerry and Libs Inc. would just give up their anti-America Leftist orientation; America would be America, soon enough.
IT - I think you need to check this out!
Regards,
TS
There are few people that I know who are caricatures of themselves. You know, where you can't tell the difference between a photograph and cartoon image. Heh.
(If only the VC had captured Kerry!)
Nice toon, and you really bring out the horse in ole horse face there. :)
I don't use any plug ins or add ons. I used to paint portraits on canvas, and I enjoy "painting" these cartoon caricatures in the same old way. The only program I use is PhotoShop and a simple "goo" program to smear the expressions (PhotoShop blends the pixels... grrrrr!). The swatches tools, brushes tools and such allow me to "paint" just as I did on canvas. The cartoons are 100% digitally painted. In other words, I paint the hair on... basic color washes on top of washes, single strand highlights and darks, etc.
The flag should probably be upside down, though...
WinterSoldier.com's own Dr. Jerome Corsi will be on "The Black Avenger" show Wednesday June 2, 2004
Ping your lists!
TS
You're so good!!! :-)
I didn't mean that as a slight, I just didn't believe anyone would have the skill to accomplish such a style for a political cartoon. I've sent it along my email list, so keep them coming for me to convert my friends...
