The attack occurred last month on August 16th, according to the victim, who said she was assaulted by four men she described as having a dark skin colour. A new report from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German government’s central institution for monitoring and preventing diseases, confirms an across-the-board rise in disease since 2015. A court in Austria has heard that nine Iraqi immigrants gang raped a teacher during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Vienna. The woman, 28, said she was drinking in a bar with a female friend but was apparently “taken away” by four men and led to an apartment where five more men were waiting to begin the “humiliating and agonizing” attack, which lasted for two hours. Austrian authorities are investigating an unprecedented number of sexual assaults that occurred on New Year’s Eve in the western city of Innsbruck. BERLIN—A man in the German city of Reutlingen on Sunday killed a woman with a machete and injured other people before being detained, police there said. The suspect is a 21-year-old asylum seeker from Syria, the police said. The man was known to the police and had been charged in the past with assault, a police spokesman said. He was housed at a refugee shelter in Reutlingen, he said.

Police have arrested the young migrant male believed responsible for kicking to death a young man this month, and are actively seeking two other suspects after a significant police operation.
