Hillbilly Elegy describes Vance’s experience in Appalachia, Kentucky and upbringing in Middletown, Ohio– diving into concepts such as poverty, addiction, and "hillbilly culture." This was published in 2016, and in 2017 UW-Madison chose to distribute the book through the “Go Big Read” reading program. This program selects one book per academic year to give to all the incoming freshmen and center discussion around the book’s themes, like a massive book club....

Christine Blasey Ford, the woman best known for accusing Brett Kavanaugh of trying to sexually assault her when he was 17-year-old high school student, has a new book coming out next week titled "One Way Back: A Memoir." Part of any major book release is the requisite push to get the book into the media so people hear about it and go buy it. That won't be hard for Blasey Ford given the impact of her 2018 testimony. Already there are pre-publication write-ups appearing in major papers once again highlighting her claim that Kavanaugh is a liar.“The fact is, he...

Fauci served under seven presidents, beginning in the Reagan administration. He was the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health for almost four decades. He became a lightning rod for conservative criticism during the Trump administration over...

Hillary Clinton was pictured in Manhattan on Monday clutching a memoir about a family's 'shame and secrecy'. The former Secretary of State was back in New York City for the first time since her husband's name was once again dragged through the mud over his friendship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Bill Clinton, now 77, was friends with the billionaire financier. Last week, as a tranche of court documents from a 2015 case against Epstein's right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell were unsealed and Bill's name featured prominently. In one particularly damaging section, a victim of Epstein claimed that he told her Clinton...

Former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Inside” that “everybody should vote for” President Joe Biden if they wanted democracy to survive. Partial transcript as follows: HUTCHINSON: Donald Trump isn’t a Republican. And, yes, maybe, by name, he considers himself a Republican, but Donald Trump cares more about authoritarian rule than he does our rule of law. He doesn’t care about preserving our Constitution. He cares about leveraging it for his own power and his own gain. So, when we look at this next election, we need to think about, if we want our democracy to...

The Pentagon has purchased and arranged for the destruction of 9,500 copies of a book so it can protect classified information it contains. Lt. Colonel Anthony Shaffer's memoir "Operation Dark Heart" had become a headache for the Defense Department which determined after it had gone to print that it contained classified information. The book recounts the Army Reserve officer's experiences in Afghanistan in 2003 while working for the Defense Intelligence Agency. An option being explored with the book's publisher was for the Pentagon to purchase the 9,500 copies of the book's first run so they could be destroyed. Pentagon spokeswoman...

PORTLAND, Maine — In the summer of 2010, former President George H.W. Bush sat down at his home in Kennebunkport and jotted a quick note to a young woman who had come to Maine for a work project. “Dear Taylor,” he wrote. “There are a lot of family fans of yours here at our lovely place by the sea. Please come over tomorrow afternoon for a swim and relaxation by our pool. I believe in long shots, so I hope this one works out.” The invitation was accepted, and the next day Taylor Swift came by with several of her...

ANN ARBOR, MI — It’s been 26 years since Janine Easter met Hillary Clinton at the White House and convinced the first lady to come visit her diehard fan club in Ann Arbor. Clinton’s book signing at Borders downtown in 1996, followed by a gathering with fans inside the Michigan Theater, was a big deal for Easter and many others. The first lady also made a return visit two years later and again met with her loyal fans.

Hunter Biden has joked that 'pants were the problem' while he was on crack, during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel to promote his new memoir on Thursday night. Biden also doubled down on his claim that he does not know if the infamous abandoned laptop belongs to him - despite it being verified by top forensics experts for DailyMail.com. The President's son insisted that he does not know if the laptop was his because he was so detached from reality while on drugs - and went on to say that the scandal around the computer is a 'red herring'.

As an author, I have a love-hate relationship with Amazon. In the past, Amazon has inexplicably purged reviews from conservative books, including my own, without explanation. My book, The Worst President in History: The Legacy of Barack Obama, is routinely targeted by the Left for bogus negative reviews. Roughly 25 percent of the book’s reviews have always been bogus one-star reviews that are not tagged as a “verified purchase” that simply accuse me of being racist, claim the book is poorly researched (it has over 1,000 endnotes), or involve some other attack. Since its original publication in 2016, the percentage of...

It doesn't take a particularly impressive imagination to predict how the liberal media would cover one of former President Donald Trump's sons if he were to have a major crack and alcohol addiction. Stories would begin with the notion that Trump was a terrible father who's too self-absorbed and absent to raise his children right. CNN would certainly strike that pose. But on Sunday's "Reliable Sources," host Brian Stelter was deeply impressed with Hunter Biden's "extraordinary" and "breathtaking" memoir. Stelter gleefully promoted every tabloidish Trump-trashing book -- from Omarosa's to Anthony Scaramucci's -- but he's doing the exact opposite now....

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem criticized excerpts from former President Barack Obama’s soon-to-be-released memoir, calling it a “ridiculous message.” “What a ridiculous message,” the South Dakota Republican tweeted Thursday in response to an excerpt from Obama’s latest book, "A Promised Land," posted at The Atlantic. “Obama had 8 years, including 2 with full control of Congress. He sent our jobs to China, left our healthcare system in disarray, our foreign policy in shambles & our people divided. Instead of blaming Trump, Obama should consider what led to 2016." Obama wrote that he had planned to finish writing the memoir in...

Former President Barack Obama will release the first volume of his memoir Nov. 17, two weeks after Election Day. The 768-page book, “A Promised Land” will cover the 44th president’s historic rise to the White House and first term in office. “I’ve spent the last few years reflecting on my presidency, and in ‘A Promised Land’ I’ve tried to provide an honest accounting of my presidential campaign and my time in office: the key events and people who shaped it; my take on what I got right and the mistakes I made; and the political, economic, and cultural forces that...

WASHINGTON — The Department of Justice has opened a criminal investigation into whether President Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton unlawfully disclosed classified information when he published his bombshell memoir “The Room Where It Happened,” according to a new report. The department has formed a grand jury and subpoenaed communications from Bolton’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, after the government failed to block the release of the book earlier this summer, the New York Times reported Tuesday. The Trump administration sued Bolton in June in a bid to delay the publication of the tell-all about Bolton’s 17 months in the...

Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders wrote in her memoir that President Trump joked in 2018 that she should hook up with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after he winked at her, The Guardian reported Wednesday. Sanders’s book detailed that the president teased her, encouraging her to “go to North Korea and take one for the team” after the officials had met Kim during a summit in Singapore in June 2018. A copy of the book, titled “Speaking for Myself” and slated to be released on Tuesday, was obtained by The Guardian. The former press secretary’s book...

Mary Trump, the niece of President Donald Trump, has called on her uncle to resign from office as she breaks her silence after publishing a memoir describing him as a 'sociopath'. 'Resign,' Mary Trump responded when ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos asked her what message she would have for her uncle if she were in the Oval Office. She said that, after being 'perverted' by the family's deep-seated 'issues,' her uncle was destined to become a man 'utterly incapable of leading this country, and it's dangerous to allow him to do so.' 'I saw firsthand what focusing on the...

Promising an 'intimate and rousing' account of her trials, tribulations and inspirational journey from war-torn Somalia to the United States Congress, Ilhan Omar's new book has all the makings of a bestseller. But what is less certain, is how much the leftist firebrand will earn from her upcoming memoir This is What America Looks Like - or whether it will finally address questions about her multiple marriages and torrid affair with her married aide. Outside the Capitol on Wednesday, Omar was asked whether her book advance would exceed the reported $2 million pocketed by President Trump's former national security adviser...
