President Biden finished his campaign-style Saturday trip to Michigan with a cherry on top. The Democrat met with local officials and voters at a cherry farm near the Traverse City National Cherry Festival, an event that has also attracted Presidents Herbert Hoover and Gerald Ford. He chatted with two Guatemalan couples who worked on the farm for 35 years about a potential pathway to citizenship for farmworkers, before eating a cherry out of their basket.

White House infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci has a dream candidate if Saturday Night Live decides to portray him in a sketch when it returns this weekend. Fauci was appearing on CNN’s New Day when he was pressed as to who he’d like to be the faux Fauci. He hedged at first, saying he didn’t want anyone, but when Alisyn Camerota pressed him, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases faced a difficult choice. To ease his path, Camerota suggested Ben Stiller or Brad Pitt. “Oh, Brad Pitt, of course,” Fauci told Camerota.

I think CBS stands for Caress Barack’s Scrotum. Saturday’s puff piece based on the President’s Hawaii vacation pool report asks the question “why Obama loves golf, basketball and all things athletic” without actually answering it. In fact, Obama’s love of “things athletic” would make him a glutton for punishment, because he’s not very good at any of those things.

Okay, celebration's over. Now it's time to get serious. Republicans did good. That's true. But they had help from some very unexpected quarters. Any victory message from the Republican National Committee should certainly attribute at least part of the GOP's success to the Clintons. After all, Hillary's wicked divisiveness raised many eyebrows these past few weeks. Still, she's just a bit player in this. One very interesting part of the story is quite subtle to most of us: Democrats actually allowed the disgraced Bill Clinton to go out and campaign for candidates.
