Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that it would take 24 minutes to explain to former President Donald Trump he can not end the Ukraine war in 24 hours because Russian President Vladimir Putin can’t be managed. Anchor Kristen Welker said, “Former President Trump who is the GOP frontrunner has said if he is reelected he could end this war in 24 hours. What is your reaction and message to former President Trump about that?”

As the Democratic Party’s fate grows increasingly uncertain this midterm election season, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) says he remains resilient in a notoriously “purplish” state by focusing on the empowerment of individual voters. “Colorado is a very independently minded, freedom-oriented state, and they don’t want Republicans or Democrats telling them what to do,” Polis told The Hill. “They value accurate information, they value facts, and people should be empowered to make their own decisions, whether that’s marijuana, whether it’s wearing a mask — we’re a state that values freedom.”

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife Elaine Chao, President Donald Trump's transportation secretary, no longer knew how to deal with the president, according to a forthcoming book. "Every day the leader and I wake up saying, 'How do we manage the president?'" Chao told a friend in December 2020, per the book. CNN on Wednesday reported on the excerpt from the book, titled "This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future," by New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns.

If this court is going to break out of its predictable political mold on major legal controversies in America, it will be up to the inscrutable 63-year-old chief justice, whose ideology now lands him at the center of the bench, between the four liberals and the four most dependable conservatives. Yet unlike Anthony Kennedy, who Kavanaugh succeeded, Roberts is no centrist conservative with a record of joining the left on closely watched social policy disputes, such as to uphold abortion rights. The instincts of Roberts, who rose in Washington as he served Republican administrations, have always rested with the right...

- A spate of noisy disputes between middle-aged women and nearby residents has prompted China's communist leaders to step in and regulate dancing in public places, state media said Monday. Groups of dancers often gather on China's public squares and street corners performing choreographed routines to loud music, sometimes provoking anger from neighbours. China will step up efforts to manage such dancers, creating a "public square dancing management mechanism" which will be "under government leadership", the official Xinhua news agency reported. "Public square dancing will enter into the social management system," Xinhua cited a joint statement from four central departments...

Gov. Schwarzenegger signed legislation Wednesday creating a sex-offender management board to improve the state's oversight of sex offenders and foster communication between law-enforcement officials. The bill closely resembles a bill Schwarzenegger vetoed last year. The 2005 parole of convicted rapist David Allyn Dokich to Mead Valley, an unincorporated community south of Riverside, highlighted a lack of communication between state and local agencies. The sheriff's department had little notice of Dokich's arrival. Under AB 1015, a 17-member board will oversee the management and treatment of sex offenders. The goal is to reduce recidivism and protect the public. In his veto message...

1/3/2006 - BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq (AFPN) -- When Soldiers and Marines call in an air strike on an enemy position, the 727th Expeditionary Air Control Squadron tracks the airplanes and allocates the airspace for the mission. The squadron, known as Kingpin, is a radar control and identification agency responsible for identifying all aircraft flying in the 270,000 square miles of airspace over Iraq. The unit is deployed in three separate locations in the region. By rapidly identifying air traffic, military or civilian, Kingpin creates a real-time "air picture" that the combined air operation center uses to maintain control of...
