United States Postal workers who deliver mail in some of Chicago’s more violent neighborhoods are threatening to halt their services after a mail carrier was shot in the city’s South Side earlier this month. The carrier, a 24-year-old woman, was left critically and injured after being shot multiple times at 91st Street and Ellis Avenue while delivering mail on September 10. Police said the worker did not appear to be the target and had been caught in the crossfire during a drive-by. HOBART, Ind. (AP) - A tiny, ankle-nipping Chihuahua that recently had its name flashed around the globe for halting mail deliveries is in hot water again. The Hobart Humane Society picked up Bobo last week for the third time this year after someone reported that the 4.5-pound dog was running loose again, officials in the northern Indiana city said. Last Night, I received my mail after 8:00 pm, PDT. What gives with the Post Office. I remember growing up, the mail person would be quite punctual. Clean and orderly. Now the employees are teenagers (as of last night), and more than 3 hours late... My Uncle was a supervisor at the Van Nuys post office for over 30 years. He would be furious with how things are run today.
