Twitter for the first time put a fact-check label on tweets from President Trump, using the controversial tactic on messages in which the president complained there is “no way” that “mail-in ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent.” It may be instructive that Twitter seized on the mail-in balloting tweets as the first issue from Trump’s rapid fire social media feed to slap with a fact-check label. Twitter did not disclose in its so-called fact-check it is partners with two groups financed by leftist donors that engage in voter participation efforts, including drives pushing mail-in balloting. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas officials fighting to block widespread mail-in voting during the pandemic claimed victory after the state's highest court ruled Wednesday that a lack of immunity to the coronavirus doesn't qualify someone to cast a ballot by mail. The decision was unanimous by the Texas Supreme Court, which is stocked with nine Republican justices, including one who revealed last week that she had tested positive for COVID-19. Texas generally limits mail balloting only to voters who are over 65 years old or have a disability. Justice Eva Guzman wrote the court was unified in the conclusion that...

A postal carrier in Pendleton County is accused of committing attempted election fraud by taking requests for Democratic absentee ballots and re-marking them as requests for Republican ballots. Mail carrier Thomas Cooper, 47, of Dry Fork was charged with “attempt to defraud the residents of West Virginia of a fair election.” The charge was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. The investigator was Bennie Cogar of the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office and on behalf of the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office. Cogar swore an affidavit, which was included with the filing....

Vote-by-mail would federalize a state-based electoral system, introducing something Democrats tend to use when they're desperate for a win: chaos. Leftists know that changing the rules of the game can bring victory, and have long tried to change election rules to do just that. When COVID-19 came, facing a contentious race with a populist incumbent president, Democrats turned to their vast network of money-men, many under the umbrella of the “dark money” empire known as the Arabella Network, and set about using the new crisis to their advantage. Their latest push is an expansion of vote-by-mail and its cousin, ballot...

A Democratic effort is underway in at least 16 states to overturn restrictions on mail-in balloting and third-party ballot harvesting. A nationwide effort by Democrats is underway in at least 16 states to overturn restrictions on mail-in voting and third-party ballot harvesting. States where suits have been filed include the swing states of Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Florida. The effort is being backed by the National Redistricting Foundation, a Democratic group headed by the Obama administration’s Attorney General Eric Holder. The suits appear to be funded by Priorities USA, a Democratic super PAC. A Wall Street Journal headline from April read,...

Pennsylvania could determine the presidency. But it might not be clear for days who won the state on Nov. 3. Election officials throughout the critical battleground, which is implementing no-excuse mail-in voting for the first time ever amid a pandemic, say they are unlikely to finish counting those ballots the night of the general election.

President Donald Trump said Sunday that Democrats are attempting to use the Chinese coronavirus pandemic to push mail-in ballot plans for the upcoming November election, warning the move will lead to “the greatest Rigged Election in history.” “The United States cannot have all Mail In Ballots. It will be the greatest Rigged Election in history. People grab them from mailboxes, print thousands of forgeries and “force” people to sign,” the president wrote. “Also, forge names. Some absentee OK, when necessary. Trying to use Covid for this Scam”:

Think about an election where a ballot is sent to a person regardless of eligibility or to an address that person may not live at anymore; signed by someone else; picked up and delivered by a Democratic campaign operative; and still counted. If Democrats were to get their way, that is what would happen in my home state of Nevada this June, and nationwide in the November presidential election. This is clearly a trial run by Democrats to see if they can get away with The Scam of the Century with which they have one goal in mind: to steal...

The Illinois Senate voted 37-19 to pass a voting expansion plan for the November 3 election. The bill heading to Gov. JB Pritzker's desk for approval will greatly expand Illinois' vote-by-mail system following the COVID-19 pandemic. Senate Bill 1863 will give voters the opportunity to cast their ballots without going out in public, as there could potentially be a second round of COVID-19 spread this fall. "The right to vote is the foundational pillar of our democracy -- and, now, as our elected leaders are making some of the most consequential decisions of our lifetimes, it's more important than ever...

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- The Illinois Senate passed a bill expanding vote by mail for the 2020 election Friday. The bill will automatically send an application for a vote-by-mail ballot to any person who has voted in the past two years, in the 2018 general election, the 2019 consolidated election or the 2020 primary election. Anyone who registered to vote after the 2020 primary will also receive an application for a vote-by-mail ballot. The bill also declares Election Day, November 3, 2020, a state holiday. House and Senate committees debated the bill Thursday, but Republicans raised concerns. "We've tripled the...

The Illinois House voted 72-43 to pass an expansion plan for voting by mail for the 2020 General Election. This vote followed a lengthy debate between Republicans and Rep. Kelly Burke (D-Evergreen Park) who sponsored the proposal in the House. Democrats discussed the possibility of implementing a vote-by-mail plan earlier this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic sped up their process. Sponsors say Senate Bill 1863 will give voters the opportunity to cast their ballots without going out in public, as there could potentially be a second round of COVID-19 spread this fall. If the bill passes out of both chambers,...

Wednesday on MSNBC, Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez accused President Donald Trump of attempting to “steal the election” by opposing vote-by-mail during the coronavirus pandemic. Host Chris Hayes said, “For more on the president’s efforts to subvert the democratic process, I’m joined by the chair of the Democratic National Committee. I’m always conflicted about, you know, stories of the variety the president tweeted. He tweets a lot of things and most of it is nonsense or lies or liable or slander or whatever. But the way he attacked absentee voting today struck me as genuinely dangerous and genuinely sort...

Michigan’s secretary of state announced Tuesday morning that all registered voters in the crucial general election battleground state will be mailed an application to vote by mail in November. “By mailing applications, we have ensured that no Michigander has to choose between their health and their right to vote,” Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson wrote in a statement. “Voting by mail is easy, convenient, safe, and secure, and every voter in Michigan has the right to do it,” she said. Benson said that 1.3 million of the state’s 7.7 million registered voters are on the permanent absentee ballot list, which...

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The once-delayed Pennsylvania primary won't determine the presidential nominees, by now a foregone conclusion. But the voting in two weeks will feature legislative and congressional races, a first run for some new paper-record voting systems and the inaugural use of newly legalized mail-in ballots. Voter registration will end Monday for the June 2 primary. The latest figures show many Pennsylvanians have embraced the state’s new vote-by-mail option that was passed last year but has been widely adopted as a way to avoid pandemic exposure. More than 1 million Pennsylvania voters have requested mail-in ballots, including 700,000 Democrats...

WILLIAMSPORT – A software issue resulted in 61 Lycoming County voters receiving eight mail-in ballots for the June 2 primary election. ElectionIQ of Stowe, Ohio, which is processing the applications for the county, accepted blame. It said the error occurred when data was being processed through Postal Service sorting software on March 31. The service provider immediately “overnighted” a letter to each of the 61 and explained it was an isolated incident. It apologized and said additional processes have been put in place to ensure it does not happen again. “In 30-plus years our postal expert has never seen this...

The PA. state Supreme Court on Friday rejected a lawsuit that would force election officials to accept mail-in-ballots as long as they are received within a week after the primary or general elections. According to a 2019 law, the deadline for county elections offices to receive mail-in-ballots is 8:00 p.m. when the polls close on election day. The state legalized mail-in-ballots last fall, and they will be implemented for the first time this year. If voters wish to request a mail-in-ballot, they must do so by May 26, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported. Recent data has not shown a compelling public...

AUSTIN, Texas - A Texas appeals court on Thursday upheld a lower court ruling that temporarily expanded mail-in balloting for any voters who fear for their health because of the coronavirus pandemic. The 14th Court of Appeals ruled in a split 2-1 decision that it would let stand a lower court’s decision that fear of contracting the coronavirus made a voter eligible to vote by mail under state law. The case was originally brought by the Democratic Party of Texas, which is looking to expand the ability of voters to cast ballots during the pandemic. The party hopes to continue...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has indicated that the next coronavirus relief bill from Congress will include provisions to vastly expand mail-in and absentee voting in the United States. Citing concerns over the well-being of citizens risking infection to wait in voting lines on election day or working as poll workers, Pelosi told Gray TV's Greta Van Susteren that the expansion was necessary for "not only the health of our democracy, [but] the health of our people." "In the state of Wisconsin, they had a number of COVID cases that were immediately traced to people having to stand in line for...

After spending nearly two months on the run, Speedy Gonzalez was nabbed by police in Georgia during a routine traffic stop. Federal authorities had been looking for Gonzalez since March when he was identified as a suspect in a case of mail fraud. Authorities accused Speedy, which is his legal name, of stealing checks from a mailbox in January. Officials said that he used the money to purchase $3,000 worth of items from Home Depot, which he later returned for cash. Gonzalez managed to evade capture for more than six weeks. Officials said he was spotted in Tennessee before he...

**SNIP** The primary was the first major test of statewide elections via mail amid an outbreak. And the results were mixed. There were reports of confusion but no widespread disruption. It wasn’t like Wisconsin earlier this month, when voters were forced to overlook social distancing guidelines to stand in line wearing masks to cast a ballot. Still, overall turnout appeared to be off. The secretary of state’s office said that about 1.5 million votes had been cast as of midday Saturday, down sharply from the 3.2 million cast in Ohio’s 2016 presidential primary. “Within the context of the threat of...
