Gentlemen, May I present my newest acquisition. A genuine "service grade" M1 Garand. I told everyone that this was a "Christmas gift from my uncle" which, in a way it was. GEORGETOWN, Ind. - A 15-year-old boy used a World War II-era sniper rifle to fatally shoot a deputy and critically wound another outside his southern Indiana home, authorities said Tuesday. The teen, Tyler Dumstorf, had shot the deputies Monday evening and was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot early Tuesday inside the home about 13 miles outside Louisville, Ky., authorities said. Has anyone shot the Auto-ordinance M1 carbine? I want a shooter more than a collector’s item and a grand for a Fulton Armory rebuild is a little much. Shopping around most of the decent GI carbine I’ve seen run around the same price as a new one. I’ve read mixed reviews of other Auto-ordinance products before they were taken over by Khar and none on the carbine. I would like to know about accuracy, reliability, and GI parts interchangeability.
