The number of states where liberals outnumber conservatives has dropped more than 30 percent, with just six now in that category: Massachusetts, Hawaii, Vermont, Washington, New York, and New Hampshire. According to the latest Gallup survey, in every other state but California, where conservatives and liberals split 29 percent to 29 percent, conservatives lead. Nationally, those who identify themselves conservative hold a nine-point lead. Before conservatives start to cheer, Gallup said the gap used to be 21 points and a handful of the state numbers fall in the margin of error. But the survey still shows a large swath of...

Recent polling has some good news for the conservative cause: More Americans identify as conservative than as liberal. Gallup’s 2018 tracking polls in all 50 U.S. states asked respondents to self-identify as either liberal, conservative or moderate. The aggregated results, which were released Friday, show that more respondents identified as liberal than as conservative in only six states. Gallup previously reported that on a national level, conservatives outnumbered liberals 35 percent to 26 percent in 2018. The states where the number of self-identified liberal residents exceeded the number of conservatives were Hawaii, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and Washington....
  • Media blitz foiled: conservatives outnumber liberals in far more states, since Trump's election

You could be forgiven if you thought that the media onslaught against conservatives the last few years would have an effect on how most of the country views the right. That media campaign - directed against Donald Trump but also against conservatives - has been unprecedented in its scope and intensity. Conservatives are routinely portrayed as racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-Muslim, and paranoid xenophobes.  But Gallup found some remarkable conservative strength all across the country. Their latest survey shows that liberals outnumber conservatives in only 6 states and that there are 25 states where conservatives are polling above their national average....
  • Democrats Covet The West But Can't Keep Losing The South (Dems Left Whistling Dixie Alert)

But new long-term population projections from the Census Bureau show that anyone who believes Democrats can consistently win the White House without puncturing the Republican dominance across the South is just whistling Dixie. The census projections present Democrats with an ominous equation: the South is growing in electoral clout even as the Republican hold on the region solidifies. Veteran demographer William H. Frey, a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution think tank, this month extrapolated the census numbers into projections for the electoral college over the next quarter century. His conclusions, in a paper titled "The Electoral College Moves to...
