President Barack Obama has played a lot of golf in his days as the nation’s leader. On Monday, Obama relayed one of his golf stories while speaking at a fundraiser for the Nevada Democratic Party hosted at the home of The Las Vegas Sun owner Brian Greenspun. Obama talked about about golfing with Greenspun and former New York Yankees star Derek Jeter, saying the two “stole money” from him because Jeter was “shanking balls everywhere” at the practice range and then beat him on the course.

I just finished reading Eugene Robinson’s article “We find trouble when we go looking for it.” Robinson seems to leave out some factual analysis. Robinson says that 85 percent of stops in New York City under the stop and frisk policy were blacks and Hispanics. The fact is 95 percent of murders in New York City are committed by people of color.

Harry Reid admitted this week what most honest and informed people already knew: he flat out lied in 2012 about Mitt Romney not paying his income taxes for ten years. Reid gave an ends justifies the means explanation to CNN's Dana Bash namely that, hey, it worked because Romney didn't win the presidential election. In 2012 a columnist in Reid's home state of Nevada, Jon Ralston of the Las Vegas Sun wrote a column critical of Reid's attack on Romney based on no facts.
