An Indiana State Prison (ISP) employee has been caught allegedly trying to smuggle contraband into the facility. A nurse at the jail is accused of trying to smuggle cocaine and marijuana inside a frozen bowl of lasagna. Court documents say 46-year-old Regina Davis reported for work on July 3 and had her property scanned as a standard procedure before being allowed in the facility when security officers felt something was odd about the image of her bowl of lasagna. After chipping into the frozen pasta layers, two packages containing 84 grams of cocaine and 49 grams of marijuana were discovered...

On a recent summer morning, Lynn Hirsch was determined as she packed the back of her gray SUV with 20 aluminum pans of lasagna. The retiree was on a mission: Drive nearly 70 miles from her suburb of Atlanta to two rural Georgia towns and get the hearty dishes into the hands of people who needed them. It's an increasingly typical mission for volunteers of Lasagna Love — a grassroots nonprofit organization of 33,000 people across the country who are sharing free lasagnas with Americans struggling with financial and other challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The group is...

My daughter just tipped me off to this - it makes me chuckle. As a Cruz supporter, I urge FR to not make a flame war out of this. (Due diligence: a Google search doesn't show that this has previously been posted.)

CHICAGO - Twinkies, they're not just for dessert anymore. The new "Twinkies Cookbook" has recipes for everything from a Twinkie Burrito to Twinkie Lasagna. Theresa Cogswell compiled about 50 recipes for the book. Many were submitted to Hostess, as part of Twinkies' 75th anniversary celebration last year. Cogswell tells Illinois' Daily Southtown newspaper that one of her favorites is a berry-laden Patriotic Twinkie Pie. It's red, white and blue. Cogswell says it makes a great centerpiece for a Fourth of July picnic, which you can also eat for dessert.
