Police say a 23-year-old man who allegedly kicked in the door of the wrong apartment just before 1:00 a.m. February 23, 2025, was shot dead by a resident inside. The Lexington Herald-Leader reported the deceased as Matthew Maggart, a Western Kentucky University student. Police indicated the rightful resident of the apartment was on the phone with 911 while Maggart was “actively kicking the door to their apartment.” The Bowling Green Police Department released a statement noting that Maggart did live in the apartment complex, but the door he allegedly kicked in was not the one to his apartment.

Police charged Google worker after he was seen kicking a tiny, 5-pound rescue dog during a dispute with its owner on the Upper West Side, sources said. Eric Morrison, 34, was slapped with the violation on Feb. 23 for kicking Jen Floyd’s Chihuahua named Knox — but Morrison maintains the dog owner was the aggressor, according to a police source. Morrison, who studied at Yale and Oxford, according to a since-deleted social media profile, is accused of violating New York’s Agriculture and Markets law, the sources said.

Shocking surveillance footage shows a woman being viciously assaulted by a homeless man in a Queens subway station after ignoring him on a train, police said Monday. The attack happened just after 5 a.m. Sept. 20 as the 33-year-old victim tried to exit the northbound A train at the Howard Beach stop without engaging with the vagrant, cops said. A man suspected in a downtown beating that left a man bloody and unconscious in the street after he crashed a truck during a confrontation that unfolded near a downtown Portland demonstration is now in custody. Marquise Love, 25, turned himself in and was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on Friday morning, according to Portland police. He’s accused of felony assault, coercion and rioting and is being held on $260,000 bail.

Portland police have arrested the 25-year-old accused of viciously attacking a truck driver who was seen on video being violently beaten, jail records show. Marquise Lee Love was booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center on Friday shortly after 5:30 a.m. local time, according to jail records. He was charged with assault, coercion and riot, all three of which are felonies, records show.

Border Police officials on Monday ordered an investigation into one of its officers after video footage surfaced showing him delivering a kick to an Arab boy, aged 9. The video, taken on June 29, shows one Border Policeman apprehending the boy, named as Abd al-Rahman Burkan, near the Tomb of the Patriarchs. A reporter for a small newspaper was forcibly removed from a press area near Air Force One shortly before President Barack Obama arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to depart California early Thursday. Airport security officers carried the woman away by the feet and arms as she protested her removal. She later identified herself as Brenda Lee, a writer for the Georgia Informer in Macon and said she has White House press credentials.
