On this day (Jan. 25) in 1978, Joy Division played their first live gig, a moment that is often credited with kicking off the post-punk era. The iconic, yet short-lived rock outfit – made up of frontman Ian Curtis, guitarist and keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, and drummer Stephen Morris – premiered their unique blend of moody punk-tinged, synth rock at Pips Discotheque in Manchester, England. Back then, Pips was the place to be, a hub where the ever-shifting culture of late 1970s Britain was continually being shaped. “Inside there were different sub-cultures all coming together,” an article from...

Two women, who’d sent pro–Bernie Sanders messages to hundreds of men between them, told Reuters they’d had their accounts deactivated. Robyn Gedrich, 23, said she sent this campaign message to 60 men a day for two weeks: "'Do you feel the bern?'...

Only this time, Behar threw in a couple of old standbys for whom lefties are fixated upon assaulting - former President George W. Bush and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Behar, on her Oct. 17 CNN HLN program, suggested to radio show talk host and former child-star actor Danny Bonaduce there was a trend - that people who have had struggles with chemical addictions are now outspoken, particularly those on the right that Behar...

“The View” co-host Joy Behar appeared on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday, where she slammed Fox News commentators Glenn Beck and one of Irish America’s most controversial figures, Bill O’Reilly. Behar will launch her own talk show on Monday night on the CNN network HLN called “The Joy Behar Show,” and when it was pointed out that she was hired to replace Glenn Beck on the network, the outspoken comedian had a few choice words for the political pundit. “I think that he is frequently ridiculous and doesn't make any sense as far as I'm concerned. But he calls himself...
