The longtime secretary of state died Saturday, five months after he was paralyzed by a fall and two decades after following his late father, Gov. John McKeithen, into a colorful political career. <p>Services for Mrs. Marjorie Howell Funderburk McKeithen, age 84, of Hogan Plantation, Columbia will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 26, 2004 from the First United Methodist Church in Columbia with Rev. Howard Hudson officiating. Interment will be follow in McKeithen Family Plot on Hogan Plantation.</p>

<p>Posted on November 11, 2003 After polling registrars of voters around the state, Secretary of State Fox McKeithen has estimated that 45 percent of the state's electors will bother to vote in the Nov. 15 election.</p> <p>McKeithen said his projections are based on registrars' reports on the strength of last week's absentee voting. McKeithen predicted a 65 percent turnout in the Oct. 4 primary, but only about 50 percent of the voters trekked to the polls.</p>
