Sources tell Virginia Virtucon that RPV Chairman Del. Jeff Frederick will NOT resign from his post and will stay and fight the attempt to remove him. A vote to remove Jeff is now scheduled for April 3. While the 3/4 majority of State Central Committee members necessary to remove a chairman have signed on to the letter, which is said to include ten allegations against Frederick, Jeff is currently working on peeling away support for the letter.

In a move that has been brewing for quite some time, but only reached critical mass within the last 48 hours, 3/4 of the Republican Party of Virginia's State Central Committee have signed on to a letter asking RPV Chairman Jeff Frederick to step aside. Virginia's Republican chairman said Tuesday that his remark tying Democrat Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden during the presidential campaign was stupid, but he refused to apologize. During the campaign, GOP head Jeff Frederick told a small group of Republican volunteers that "both Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have friends that have bombed the Pentagon." State legislators said yesterday that Virginia is facing an immigration crisis on par with Arizona and New Mexico and urged Gov. Mark Warner to declare an emergency like the governors of those two states did last week."If New Mexico and Arizona qualify, certainly Northern Virginia would," the Fairfax County Republican said.
