I had never listened to Jeff's speech at the convention but the more I find out the more I like him and can not figure out why anyone is trying to get rid of him. The state Republican Party of Virginia needs his continued leadership. Last year can't be blamed on him. It was a bloodletting. If anything it was his efforts and those who struggled on thanklessly like Jim Gilmore who kept things from being worse. Last year in Virginia what we saw was people holding their wallets because they didn't get their way at the convention. We won, the conservative rank and file won. Now they want to take that away. You might not think this is your fight but this whole effort to push out the Virginia Republican Party Chairman is an affront to us. Many at the top are money oriented and want to reign us in. Jeff didn't start out as a lawyer, he started out running a business. He didn't win because the establishment wanted him he won by smart campaigning and he campaigned as a conservative in areas where many thought it was suicide and he won by 59%. Now that is something. I think he deserves to serve out his term. The grassroots as I've seen them haven't turned on Jeff it is those in Richmond that seem to be intent on pushing him out. This is such an unnecessary fight but it could really hurt the party and it is Jeff who started this. It was the big money types and I can not figure out what their goal is.

I know you’re fighting hard for Jeff. And I understand why.

I’m just not sure your efforts are best spent here. Seems like you’d have more influence contacting the members of State Central Committee who will be voting on April 4.

Just sayin’.

If he is a real conservative and will not turn RINO; elect him.

I’ve been doing my part. I don’t just spend all my efforts on Freerepublic though this is a good place to whip it up a little. I’ve been contacting others. It is a matter of principle for me. I didn’t care initially but the more I look into it the more I do. It isn’t even that Jeff is blameless nor that I think he is critical to Virginia’s success. I can not think of any one who would point to a Party Chairman for such credit. He has made some gaffs but who hasn’t but since when do we start throwing people under the bus because they misstate something? Tell me how a conservative Christian gets elected where he was elected by 59%? He is young and has run a successful business. He is the antithesis of so many in our party leadership and there is the simple question I have which is “Why are we getting rid of someone that Keith Olbermann labeled the “Worst Person in the World?”. It just doesn’t make much sense to me.

Are vaunted leaders are wasting their time fighting internally when they should be closing ranks grass roots and party insiders alike to win. Is all this jockeying for power worth the cost? Also I don’t like seeing people stepped on and that is exactly what they are trying to do with Jeff. I want Republicans to win in Virginia but not at any cost.
