A Democratic state senator from St. Louis refused to stand while her colleagues recited the Pledge of Allegiance in the Missouri Capitol. Sen. Jamilah Nasheed said she acted in solidarity with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has refused to stand for the national anthem all season in protest of police brutality and racial oppression in the United States.
  • 'Paycheck protection' bill filibustered in Missouri Senate, passes anyway

The debate started with a bleep, when Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis, questioned Republican Sen. Dan Brown of Rolla, the bill's Senate carrier. "Senator, you know, out of all due respect, this is some bull (expletive)," Nasheed said. Brown disagreed, and Nasheed was chastised for not maintaining decorum. "Senator, what you're doing right now — what you're doing is trying to undermine and do away with unions as we know it. That's what you're doing."

Jamilah Nasheed, state senator from Missouri’s District 5, wants Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson prosecuted, never mind the formalities of a grand jury investigation. She is possessed of knowledge so vast (after all, she has a G.E.D diploma) that it dwarfs the evidence-gathering power of a mere grand jury proceeding. And if she doesn’t get her way, she has threatened riots. "If you should decide not to indict this police officer, the rioting we witnessed this past week will seem like a picnic compared to the havoc that will likely occur."

IS ISIS, Hamas, US Muslim Network Trying To Sabotage American Police?By Joel Leyden Israel News Agency New York — October 11, 2014 … Police in St. Louis and Hammond, Indiana have recently come under attack – for doing their jobs. In St. Louis, police shot dead Vonderrit D. Myers after he opened fire at police during a chase. Ballistic evidence shows Myers fired three shots at the police officers before his gun jammed. Police said they recovered the 9mm gun, which had been reported stolen on Sept. 26. Online court documents illustrate Myers was free on bond when he was...

Michael Brown was shot Saturday, Aug 9. The following day Missouri state Sen. Jamilah Nasheed said she would petition the DOJ for a formal investigation of the shooting.[1] Looks like she got her way. Now Nasheed has launched a petition to remove St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch from the case.[2] Who is Jamilah Nasheed? • Missouri state senator tweets hate toward conservatives

Everyone knows by now, a mastery of social media is a necessity if you want to maintain a successful political campaign or career. Seemingly, social etiquette is absent in some social media as recent months have shown how a miss use of it can draw negative attention to yourself. Former U.S. Congressman, Anthony Wiener, is the most notorious example of how it can ruin a career. In 2011 he resigned his position after sexually suggestive tweets, sent to a 21 year-old woman, became viral and the targets of media fodder. And again, earlier this summer, while campaigning for mayor of...

Yesterday while I was continuing my Twitter questioning of Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, I did a quick review of her Twitter stream to see if she's mentioned Tyrese Short, a 9 year old boy killed in a drive-by shooting in her district. She hadn't. She still hasn't. But she has time for this: Middle Eastern Mad Libs: “Egypt is ____________” http://t.co/IjalmoiipD via @CFR_org— Jamilah Nasheed (@JamNasheed) July 17, 2013Fun fact: after asking her over and over again why she is silent on Tyrese, but marching for Trayvon, she blocked me: So much for dialogue. (Click here to ask her why she...
