Tensions and anxiety are high right now and everybody wants to purge. But as the mods are constantly pointing out there are way too many vanities clogging the system. Here is an easy rule of thumb to use when thinking of posting a vanity. A good vanity is one that informs, educates, amuses or otherwise delights the reader. Bill Clinton was feted Saturday night with performances from a dazzling array of film, comedic and musical superstars in a tribute befitting, well, a former U.S. president...While Saturday night's birthday party, also attended by Clinton's wife Hillary and their daughter Chelsea, amounted to a thinly veiled fundraiser, it's unlikely Toronto will see its equal for some time. Canadian chanteuse Sarah McLachlan, country superstar Tim McGraw, and legendary folk singer James Taylor were just some of the musicians on the bill.

I have now posted a total of 27 threads and 9972 replies, making this my 9999th post on FR, and perhaps my 10000th (depending on how the computer counts the obligatory opening comment). Anyway, given the milestone, with the next ten thousand posts coming, I thought that it might be nice to actually try to utilize this opportunity to distract a little from the current intraboard brouhahas, to use this post to reminds us of the reason we're all here. First, to kiss a little hiney, I'd like to say thank you to all the people who made this possible,...

I just heard Sean complain that he is getting attacked by FReepers and implied that it is affecting his support of the site. I havent seen any attacks on Sean but I did post my opinion that Sean was gonna hang himself with the Trent Lott issue. And in the end...I was correct. Lott is gone...like he should be...I like Sean but he got out ahead of the curve on the Lott issue and found himself basically alone. We all know what was behind the Lott assault and the bias of the Liberal media and the hypocrisy of the Democrats...
