The widow of Dror Hanin, who was killed during Operation Protective Edge from a Gaza mortar as he gave out gift bags to soldiers, was a victim of a rock terror attack on Sunday. Arabs threw rocks at the widow’s car as she was making her way towards the city of Modi’in with her children and a friend. As the car passed Modi’in Illit, the car was pelted by rocks. Hanin’s eldest daughter Shaked, who sat in the front of the car, was hit by broken glass but did not require medical attention. Miraculously, no one else was seriously hurt.

Sunny with light missile cover in Tel Aviv this morning. I awoke to muffled thuds in the distance, Iron Dome shooting down Syrian-made missiles launched from Gaza, according to news reports. I attended the obligatory morning mixer for hotel guests at the bomb shelter, which fortunately lasted only five minutes before the all-clear sounded. I’ll write something more comprehensive on this soon — Tablet is scheduled to run my essay next Monday — but the thumbnail version is that Hamas is making a demonstration out of weakness.

The Photo that Started it All On the day the Intafada broke out, Tuvia Grossman was riding a taxi to visit the Western Wall. He was unwittingly thrust into the international limelight -- and nearly killed in the process. On September 30, 2000, The New York Times, Associated Press and other major media outlets published a photo of a young man -- bloodied and battered -- crouching beneath a club-wielding Israeli policeman. The caption identified him as a Palestinian victim of the recent riots -- with the clear implication that the Israeli soldier is the one who beat him. The...

(IsraelNN.com) The new Lebanese government formed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri will officially endorse the Hizbullah terror militia and grant legitimacy to its attacks on Israel. Hariri's national unity cabinet, including two members of Hizbullah, has been attempting to hammer out government guidelines ever since its formation earlier this month. A central sticking point has been Hizbullah's insistence that its independent arsenal of weapons be officially endorsed by the state. According to the Iranian-backed organization, its arms are non-negotiable. Cabinet members of the Phalangist Party and the Lebanese Forces insist that Hizbullah weapons undermine government authority and are in direct...

The rapid escalation of the U.S. anti-immigration hysteria fueled by ratings-hungry cable-television hotheads and leading Republican presidential hopefuls is a dangerous trend: It may lead to a Hispanic intifada that may rock this nation in the not-so-distant future.

The first thing that comes up when you google Mohammed al-Durra's name is a poem written by Sheikh Mohammed of the United Arab Emirates called "To the soul of the child martyr." It gives an idea of the mythical proportions that the young boy has assumed in the Middle East. The images of Mohammed al-Durra hiding from Israeli fire behind his father's back in the early days of the second intifada, only to be struck down by enemy bullets, shocked the whole world. For many Arabs and Muslims, the boy became the symbol of Palestinian suffering under Israeli occupation.

There is a global war on terrorism that is being fought in many countries throughout the world. The enemies of peace, freedom, and civilization have been fighting this war, unhindered until very recently, for decades. It took us from November of 1979 to September of 2001, an astonishing 21 years and 11 months, to commit ourselves to treating the terrorism on the US as a war on our country and our way of life. In November of 1979 a revolution swept across Iran, resulting in the overthrow of the US backed Shah and the beginning of the radical Islamist movement’s...
