DNC Deputy chair Keith Ellison told attendees at a Supreme Court Community Forum in Minneapolis Monday that Democrats could theoretically impeach Supreme Court justices if the party regains a majority following the 2018 midterm elections.

- - - Snip - - - "It's pure politics," Cruz said. "The Framers wrote about judicial overreach quite a bit. They believed the check would be impeachment. Now, here is the sad reality. Within a few decades Thomas Jefferson said impeachment had been not even a scarecrow." SEN. TED CRUZ: Last week's decisions were the latest in a long line and sadly were the nadir of the Supreme Court. It was majority of the Justices on Thursday, rewriting Obamacare, disregarding the law and forcing the failed law on millions of Americans, hurting millions of Americans. On then on Friday...

As the world has just learned, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled 5-4 yesterday that “for the first time in our Nation’s history, the Court confers a constitutional right to habeas corpus on alien enemies detained abroad by our military forces in the course of an ongoing war.” So summed up Justice Scalia in a stinging dissent in which he was joined by justices Roberts, Thomas, and Alito. Justices Kennedy, Stevens, Souter, Ginsburg, made up the majority Breyer.

President Kennedy Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy isn't known for his judicial modesty. But for sheer willfulness, yesterday's 5-4 majority opinion in Boumediene v. Bush may earn him a historic place among the likes of Harry Blackmun. In a stroke, he and four other unelected Justices have declared their war-making supremacy over both Congress and the White House. Justice Jackson once famously observed that the Constitution is "not a suicide pact." About Anthony Kennedy's Constitution, we're not so sure.

In the latest effort to deconstruct and destroy the United States, the Supreme Court has decided that a foreign terrorist captured on foreign territory trying to kill Americans has just as many constitutional rights as a Wal-Mart shoplifter. The liberals think this is a good thing. That's because they're America-hating idiots. Sorry, Obama, but if the shoe fits, cram it up your backside. In the liberal world view, where the war against terror is no larger than Gitmo and Abu Ghraib, the United States military is a collection of war criminals and puppy killers. Guantanamo Bay – where jihadist murderers...

In light of yesterdays horrendous SCOTUS decision concerning property rights, I am attaching the following petition. Our property can be taken with the stroke of the pen by any city or county commission. I don't know if it will do any good whatsoever, but here's your chance.

A petition for the impeachment of the 5 socialist SC Justices is being circulated. As of this post, it only has 1101 signatures. Let's get on this NOW - we should have tens of thousands of signatures.See this thread: Petition for Redress of Grievances (Kelo v. New London)Sign the petition hereLet's get another petition going while we're at it - only include more demands - wait until a good outline forms on this thread & then ping the FReeper legal eagles to write and post it. Here are my ideas:One of our legal eagle FReepers, (one that has plenty of...

This is time for action. Two things need to be done from what I can see. First call your representative and demand to talk to the legislative aid and make sure you have your copy of the Constitution in your hand for quick reference. Ask what they are going to do to over turn this. Yes Congress does have that power especially when the ruling is obviously contrary to the constititution. The land must be taken for public use with just compensation not private corporate use (the public benefit does not even come into play). It is enumerated in the...

Well, I never thought that I would be asking this other than in a joking manner, but could it truly be time for all patriotic citizens to prepare to take arms against the government? I have been guilty in the past of making fun of the “loony” gun-toting militias, or in declaiming them for endangering all “sane” gun owners’ rights. It appears that I may owe them an apology. As scary as the proposition is, they might, possibly, maybe, could, potentially (I can’t believe I’m saying this), have been right. Yeesh! It may be time for modern day “minute men”...

Even if there aren't enough votes in the Senate to boot him off the Supreme Court, it's still a good idea to impeach Justice Anthony Kennedy. Indeed, he is not the only federal judge who ought to be impeached; but we have to start somewhere. Kennedy was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Reagan, it being tacitly understood that he would demonstrate a modicum of respect for the Constitution. Today his nickname might be "Constitution? What Constitution?" He is not the man he was, and there's no reason why America should be stuck with him. Let his impeachment serve...

Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy is a fairly accomplished jurist, but he might want to get himself a good lawyer -- and perhaps a few more bodyguards. Conservative leaders meeting in Washington yesterday for a discussion of "Remedies to Judicial Tyranny" decided that Kennedy, a Ronald Reagan appointee, should be impeached, or worse. Phyllis Schlafly, doyenne of American conservatism, said Kennedy's opinion forbidding capital punishment for juveniles "is a good ground of impeachment." To cheers and applause from those gathered at a downtown Marriott for a conference on "Confronting the Judicial War on Faith," Schlafly said that Kennedy had...

Since 1789, when the courts were founded, "only" 13 federal judges and one Supreme Court justice have been impeached. CBN.com – WASHINGTON - Recent controversial court decisions are stirring the sentiment against activist judges. While some Supreme Court justices have hinted at retirement, critics are calling upon legislators to exercise their options when it comes to changing the composition of the bench in both the federal courts and the Supreme Court. You see judges in the news and on TV programs. If you are not a fan of the ones with their own shows, it is fairly easy to get...

A flap over foreign matter at the Supreme CourtMSNBC Tom Curry House members protest use of non-U.S. rulings in big cases Stepping into a battle between the liberal and conservative justices on the U.S. Supreme Court, Republican House members are protesting the court’s increasing use of foreign legal precedents in interpreting the Constitution. Republican House members Tom Feeney of Florida and Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, joined by more than 50 co-sponsors, will propose a non-binding resolution next week that would express the sense of Congress that judicial decisions should not be based on foreign laws or court decisions. While...

Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor aborts the U.S. Constitution; impeachable offense? Justice Sandra Day O'Connor predicts that the U.S. Supreme Court will increasingly base its decisions on international law rather than the U.S. Constitution, according to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. By doing so, the court will make a good impression among people from other countries, she said. "The impressions we create in this world are important and they can leave their mark," Justice O'Connor said. On the whole, the U.S. judicial system leaves a favorable impression around the world, she said "but when it comes to the impression created by the treatment of foreign and international law and the...

"The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior, and shall, at stated times, receive for their services, a compensation, which shall not be diminished during their continuance in office ... the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make." – United States Constitution This Monday the Ninth "Circus" Court of Appeals decided that California could not hold its scheduled recall election. The court's reasoning can be summed up this way: The punch-card voting machines that returned...

Ginsburg: Rulings in other countries are relevant here U.S. Supreme Court The U.S. Supreme Court is looking beyond America's borders for guidance in handling cases on issues like the death penalty and gay rights, according to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The justices referred to the findings of foreign courts this summer in their ruling that states may not punish gay couples for having sex. And in 2002, the court said that executing mentally retarded people is unconstitutionally cruel. That ruling noted that the practice was opposed internationally. "Our island or lone ranger mentality is beginning to change," Ginsburg said Saturday...

Any honest person knows it was never the intent of the writers of the U.S. Constitution to condone, protect or in any way make normal or acceptable the sin of homosexuality. No other institution has single-handedly done more to hurt and destroy this country than the Judiciary - unless it would be God's people (His Church) who should know better than to apathetically tolerate the evil so prevalent in our courts and nation today. There is only one way to correct the problem in the court system of our country. Every time one of these renegade black-robed judges violates the...
