President Kennedy

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy isn't known for his judicial modesty. But for sheer willfulness, yesterday's 5-4 majority opinion in Boumediene v. Bush may earn him a historic place among the likes of Harry Blackmun. In a stroke, he and four other unelected Justices have declared their war-making supremacy over both Congress and the White House.

Justice Jackson once famously observed that the Constitution is "not a suicide pact." About Anthony Kennedy's Constitution, we're not so sure.

Kennedy is an appeaser.

And the hope of appeasers is that, if you feed the alligator, he’ll eat you last.

So, in that sense, maybe al-Queda will find mercy on the 5 members of SCOTUS and eat them last.

Utter madness.

The Supreme Court has perpetrated the greatest abuse of power in the history of this Nation, and gotten away with it. Where is the notion that the other branches will offer “checks and balances?” Congress has been in cahoots with the Supreme Court on virtually every abuse of power since Roosevelt. Even the President has gone along. At some point, the mice need to rise up and revolt.

This decision has me so angry I can't see straight. Combine this with the decision by the California Supreme Court two weeks ago on gay marriage, and nine justices are running the country. How do we take it back?

I like the movie “The Outlaw Josey Wales” There is a line in it where a band of regulators rounded up Clints guys and a Senator who was traveling with the regulators who promised the “outlaws” they could swear an oath of loyalty to the Union and they would be “treated decently”

The Senator said: “they were decently fed, and then they were decently shot”

We ought to eliminate the combatants as they have been decently fed and we should then turn to the Supreme Court to finish my thought process..........

They are traitors. Time to grab the pitchforks and shotguns.

Imagine Barac Obama appointing a Justice to the bench....
Imagine McCain making an appointment.....

We are totally screwed.

What happened to Fred Thompson?

Justice Kennedy's opinion is full of self-applause about his defense of the "great Writ," and no doubt it will be widely praised as a triumph for civil liberties. But we hope it is not a tragedy for civil liberties in the long run. If there is another attack on U.S. soil – perhaps one enabled by a terrorist released under the Kennedy rules – the public demand for security will trample the Constitutional delicacies of Boumediene. Just last month, a former Gitmo detainee killed a group of Iraqi soldiers when he blew himself up in Mosul. And he was someone the military thought it was safe to release.

I thought this was an angry blogger or something. Then I saw it was the Wall Stree Journal Editorial staff. That alone should indicate just how far afield the Leftwing of SCOTUS has gone.

The only good thing that will come out of this is that there will be no more or very few prisoners. But as far as intelligence gathering, that will be a hit. But bullets are cheaper and easier to use than wait for their friggin’ linguini spined liberal lawyer to show up to defend the scum.
