She was 75. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, Mobley, was crowned Miss America in 1959 and became one of the few Miss Americas to launch a successful TV and movie career. The “Clarissa Explains It All” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” star prefaced her “coming out” tweet by asking her followers to explain what it’s like to be a Hollywood Republican. Liberals responded with their characteristic nastiness:

Happy 101st Ginger Rogers Birthday to all. Miss Rogers was born 101 years ago today in Independence, Missouri. She would later move to Texas and won a Charleston contest(hence the clip I picked) in 1925 and her career took off from there. The late actress was not only an accomplished dancer and an Academy Award-winner but also something you'd rarely find in Hollywood today: a staunch conservative Republican. She worked hard throughout her career and was strongly patriotic and anti-communist. She was also a member of the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_Picture_Alliance_for_the_Preservation_of_American_Ideals

Shirley Jones, best known as lovable mom Shirley Partridge on TV's The Partridge Family, may soon be shedding that wholesome image. According to the New York Post, the actress is considering posing nude for Playboy -- at the age of 75! "She's still drop-dead gorgeous, and at the age of 75, a natural beauty," says her husband/manager, Marty Ingels. "I'm her husband, and I think it would be sensational. Mature women are relevant." The Post points out that Jones wouldn't be the only old-timer to doff her duds. Nancy Sinatra was 54 when she posed in 1995; Vikki LaMotta --...

The New York Times recently called Heidi Montag a "feminist hero" for standing up to beau Spencer Pratt, but the Hills star, 21, isn't backing Hillary Clinton for president. "I'm voting for John McCain," she tells Us Weekly in its latest issue, on newsstands now. "I'm a Republican and McCain has a lot of experience," she explains.

Some Kind of Republican Was John Hughes really in favor of teen rebellion? By Michael Weiss Posted Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at 4:36 PM ET As far as adult teen whisperers go, John Hughes has enjoyed a remarkable staying power. Anyone who grew up in the '80s—or just caught the decade on reruns on rainy Saturday-afternoon television—can probably remember high school as much for its unique misery as for the Breakfast Club references it evokes. Hughes was in his 30s when he became successful, and he managed to make teen cinema intentionally funny and less condescending toward its core audience,...

I've stopped watching award shows, but I'll make an exception for one of my favorite stars/diplomats. Shirley Temple Black, age 77, will be awarded a Life Achievement Award on Sunday night. She's going to be giving a speech. I will definitely be watching. The show will be on the TNT Network at 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 29th. BTW, I tried to pick out my favorite Shirley Temple movie. It's impossible. The Little Princess, Captain January, Heidi, Stowaway... I may as well list them all. It's impossible to pick just one. Any other Shirley fans?

A report to be published Saturday says that Demi Moore's ex will pony up a million cash to any civilian who turns in the terrorist scum. Bruce Willis is such a die-hard patriot that he's offering $1 million to any civilian who turns in terror kingpins Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The hairless Hollywood he-man announced his bounty offer on MSNBC's "Rita Cosby: Live and Direct" this week. Willis also revealed he was in talks to make a movie about the Deuce Four, the soldiers whose heroic exploits have been chronicled by embedded blogger Michael Yon....

LOS ANGELES - Dennis Hopper is a Republican."People would be surprised to know that," says Hopper, maverick star and director of the '69 hippie-stoners-on-bikes classic, Easy Rider, in a recent interview."I've been a Republican since Reagan. I voted for Bush and his father. I don't tell a lot of people, because I live in a city where somebody who voted for Bush is really an outcast."One of Hollywood's legendary enfants terribles, Hopper, 69, is so straight now it's almost scary. He's been sober for 22 years. He plays golf. He wears suits and ties. And now he's...
