I've stopped watching award shows, but I'll make an exception for one of my favorite stars/diplomats.
Shirley Temple Black, age 77, will be awarded a Life Achievement Award on Sunday night. She's going to be giving a speech. I will definitely be watching.
The show will be on the TNT Network at 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 29th.
BTW, I tried to pick out my favorite Shirley Temple movie. It's impossible. The Little Princess, Captain January, Heidi, Stowaway... I may as well list them all. It's impossible to pick just one.
Any other Shirley fans?

She's had some plastic surgery looks like.
Here's the actual link to her picture:

Guess you're not a Shirley fan. Why would you make such a rude comment?
Shirley lives about a mile or two from my house.
In California?
Woodside, right outside of Redwood City.
Of course. Right here.
Oops in California. (northern)
cool. I like to see the SAGers honoring their better.
I'm merely pointing out the obvious.
Love Shirley. Saw all the movies, many more than once. Way more.
She had a big problem being accepted as a grown-up.
But she toughed it out and served this country.
Go Shirley.
Me, too. < :)
Rainy (or not) Sunday afternoons, they played on Channel 9 in L.A., a different one each week. What a treat.
I didn't want to miss it.
She was so sweet.
The pout. The smile. The dimples.
The strut!
"Go Shirley."
Amen!
I'm too young to have know Shirley Temple as a "child star", but watching some bio show about her (probably A & E) it was really clear how much charm and grace she had as a child.
Recently I was lucky enough to know a little girl who was so sweet and charming, really the nicest child I've ever met (including my own beloved daughter). I was trying to explain to someone how sweet this girl was and I finally said, She's like another Shirley Temple!
The original Shirley deserves any award anyone might care to give her, you are so right La Enchiladita in what you say about her. As for my little "niece", may she never change!
She was unquestionably the most talented child movie actor ever. But I'm equally impressed by how she lived a normal and successful life after she grew up -- most child stars in Hollywood seem to get messed up.
