Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has commissioned its first Hobart-class air warfare destroyer (AWD), HMAS Hobart (DDG 39) at a ceremony in Sydney on Saturday. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Stuart Mayer, Chief of Navy Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, Defence Minister Marise Payne and the Governor of New South Wales (NSW) David Hurley.
