The following e-mail arrived in my mailbox this morning from taxpayer-supported PBS — home of Obama sycophant and drool bucket-carrier David Brooks and Palin-basher/Obama cheerleader Gwen Ifill. Yep, the government media that has spent the last two years promoting the progressive agenda and sought a $550 million taxpayer bailout to push social justice activism now wants conservative bloggers to help publicize their election night coverage. Michelle, I wanted to send out a note to invite you to participate – even embed – the PBS NewsHour’s online-only live show tomorrow night (starting at 10 p.m. EST). It’s the first time we...

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the stabbing death Ryan Lekosky, 23 from Metairie. The stabbing occurred just after 3:30 Sunday morning at the intersection of Dauphine and Iberville Streets. According to investigators, Lekosky and his wife were walking near the intersection of Dauphine and Iberville Streets, when an unknown male, drove along side of the couple and began yelling inappropriate comments at the Lekosky’s wife. A verbal argument took place between the suspect and Lekosky’s wife; and, while Lekosky was trying to break up the argument, the suspect stabbed him multiple times. The suspect then got back into...

LOS ANGELES — Armed with folding chairs, coolers and jugs of water, thousands of people who want to avoid losing their homes lined up around the Los Angeles Convention Center on Thursday seeking help with mortgages they can no longer afford. The nonprofit Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, which is offering homeowners the chance to restructure their loans at lower rates, said about 5,000 people were in line when the doors opened at 8:30 a.m. Thousands more were expected over the next five days, during which counselors will be helping people at risk of foreclosure around the clock. Bruce Marks,...

This is a horrible case and should not be watched by the faint of heart as it contains multiple acts of animal cruelty (albeit graphic, it is not bloody). LiveLeak (or the person posting it) asked for any help. This gal probably has a FaceBook, or someone knows her. My site links out to the video. This young girl effectively drowns a litter of puppies. http://religiopoliticaltalk.com/2010/08/posted-at-request-of-liveleak-to-help-find-persons-involved-girl-throws-litter-of-puppies-into-river/

Help!! The stray cat my kids started feeding on July 4th just had 5 kittens in our garage. We spent the last 3 week canvasing the neighborhood & no one claimed her, we figured that she adopted us so we were planning on taking her to the vet this week. When she didn't show up yesterday to eat & we heard little mewing sounds, my husband went to look for her & surprise!! 5 kittens. We have been in touch with a vet, but neither hubby or I have any experience with momma cat & babies. Any advice would be...

Fellow Freepers this isn't a drill or a joke. This is real life, life or death. Any advise you have I need. First the short version. My wife of 2 months and high school sweetheart came out of an abusive marriage of 13 years. The ex-husband is like no other person I have ever witnessed with regard to his manipulative and mentally abusive behavior towards his ex, my wife, and their 2 girls, 5 and 9 years old. Not to mention every single solitary person with whom he acquaints himself has the very same story. But before I give detail,...

KABUL, Afghanistan - A group of servicemembers from the International Security Assistance Force Volunteer Community Relations Program here donated more than 300 bags of food, clothes, toys and other supplies Thursday to a local Afghan Refugee Camp during a Humanitarian Aid mission. The team of volunteers, led by U.S. Air Force Chaplain (Maj.) Michael Goecker, ISAF chaplain, collected hundreds of supplies donated by ISAF members and U.S. volunteers to give to local Afghan orphanages, camps and families in an effort to help with their state of living and support the ISAF Counterinsurgency plan. “We receive the donations from private organizations...

WASHINGTON (AP) - The government is taking what President Barack Obama calls "a long overdue step" to aid veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, making it easier for them to receive federal benefits. The changes that Veteran Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki will announce Monday fulfill "a solemn responsibility to provide our veterans and wounded warriors with the care and benefits they've earned when they come home," Obama said in his weekly radio and online address Saturday. The new rules will apply not only to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, but also those who served in previous conflicts.

To become the nation's first black president, Barack Obama not only won heavy percentages of the black and Hispanic vote but also managed to trim the Democratic Party's traditional deficit among white voters. Four years after Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) lost the white vote by 17 percentage points, Obama lost it by 12, according to exit polls. While the 2008 gains were generally attributed to Obama's strength with young voters -- he won by 10 points among whites 18 to 29 years old -- he managed to improve on Kerry's showing with white voters across every age demographic.

Do an experiment for me. Take a balloon, inflate it. Get two books and place one on each side of the balloon opposite each other. Now deflate the balloon and notice what happens to the books. The books shift towards each other. The massive pressurized oil and methane reserve now blowing out south of the Louisiana coast is just like a the deflating balloon. As this reserve empties a huge cavern is being created under the gulf floor. Usually these caverns are back filled with seawater as the oil is removed to stop a catastrophic collapse and make extracting the...

WASHINGTON, July 1, 2010 – Two years ago, Army Pfc. Ted Bonham suppressed his self-described “horrible phobia of needles” and participated in a routine blood drive with his reserve unit in Knoxville, Tenn. He couldn’t have guessed then how big that gesture of generosity would become. When the technician asked if Bonham and his buddies from the 489th Civil Affairs Battalion would have their cheeks swabbed to possibly become bone marrow donors -- with the comment that they probably would never be called -- Bonham was the only one to come forward. Today the 20-year-old is undergoing a procedure at...

WASHINGTON, June 16, 2010 – Afghan civilians helped police to repel an attack by an estimated 50 Taliban fighters against a police checkpoint in Afghanistan’s Daykundi province June 14, military officials reported. Ten national police officers manning a checkpoint in Kajran came under heavy small-arms and rocket fire just after noon and called for support. About 250 civilians gathered with personal assault rifles and, along with police reinforcements and International Security Assistance Force aircraft, forced the Taliban fighters to retreat. U.S. Special Forces soldiers responded and provided medical aid to injured Afghan policemen at the request of the Kajran district...

I have put together a political music video which parodies 2 songs from Pink Floyd's "The Wall". It is very hard hitting, and intentionally disturbing. A very short taste or preview is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGEewPKkU5E What I need is some like minded freepers to preview the entire video which I will upload later tonight for private viewing. If you would like to help, I will need you to PM me here with your youtube user id, and either send a youtube friend request, or accept my invite I send to you later. The full video is complete, but what I...

The town of Marana is offering Boy Scouts plenty of chances to "do a good deed daily" - and work toward their Eagle Scout awards in the process. Though the town and the Scouts have been working together for several years, the help has been particularly welcome as town finances have gotten tighter and budgets have dried up, according to town officials. The Parks and Recreation department is a big beneficiary of the Scouts' efforts. Scouts have installed a community water demonstration garden at the Marana Operations Center on West Ina Road, placed trail signs along the Tortolita Preserve Trail,...

WASHINGTON – The role of endorser in chief isn't working so well for President Barack Obama. Sen. Arlen Specter became the fourth Democrat in seven months to lose a high-profile race despite the president's active involvement, raising doubts about Obama's ability to help fellow Democrats in this November's elections. The first three candidates fell to Republicans. But Specter's loss Tuesday to Rep. Joe Sestak in Pennsylvania's Democratic senatorial primary cast doubts on Obama's influence and popularity even within his own party — and in a battleground state, no less. Of course, it's possible that Democrats will fare better than expected...

Alexandria Lowitzer, Ali to her friends, is an active 16-year-old who loves to text on her cell phone and play softball. She has been missing since April 26 after getting off the school bus near her home in Spring, TX. SPRING , TX - Alexandria Lowitzer seems to have vanished without a trace. No phone calls, no text messages, no good-bye letter to indicate she was upset and wanted to get away from things. No obvious reason, anyway, for her to be upset. The last time anyone saw the 16-year-old teen from Spring, she was getting off the school bus...
