Does anyone have any links to the count of dead in Iraq? Such as number of Iraqi's? Number of insurgents? Etc.? Of course trying to find anything accurate on the web is real hard since there is so much left wing noise out there. Thanks.

I am looking for a thread that had a list of a bunch of teachers busted for having sex and sexually molesting students. I would like to find this to repost on a different board. Thanks to anyone who can point me to this because there is this teacher who enjoys attacking religion and especially Catholicism on a pretty regular basis. I think a little taste of her own medicine is in order so anyone who can point me to this I appreciate it.

SACRAMENTO — In their last year in the Assembly, the bipartisan duo of Democratic Assemblyman Joe Canciamilla of Pittsburg and Republican Keith Richman of Northridge say they have finally hit on how to make politics work again for an ailing state and disgusted voters. The concept, imported from Canada, comes after a series of failed state government-revamp proposals. It seems simple but challenges the status quo embraced by many of the politically powerful — form a Citizens Assembly of regular people to suggest to voters reform of everything from redistricting and term limits to campaign finance and open primaries. "Should...

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 23, 2006 – New Orleans faced an uphill battle against mountains of debris after storm surge and levee flooding from hurricanes Katrina and Rita brought city services to a halt in 2005. With the city and its municipal solid waste collection contractor unable to resume operations, the garbage, stench and health risk increased with each sultry day. "Our contractors were having problems regrouping their people and equipment," said New Orleans Director of Sanitation Veronica T. White, a specialist in public and environmental health. "The No. 1 urgency here was health." On Sept. 21, New Orleans asked the...

WASHINGTON, Jan. 23, 2006 – Survey forms will go out in the mail this week to 10,000 servicemembers and Department of Defense civilian employees overseas to determine what they're looking for in radio programming provided by American Forces Network. The survey will help American Forces Radio and Television Service, AFN's parent organization, provide better radio programming of music, news and talk that lives up to its audience's desires, Warren Lee, AFRTS plans and operations officer, said in an interview. The goal, he said, is "to serve our overseas audience with the information and entertainment that they want and need to...

Can any freeper tell me when a lawyer crosses the line from representing his client and participating in his crime? If his client is facing multiple civil actions for fraud and the lawyer seeks to silent would be witnesses through intimidation thus allowing the defendant to continue perpetrating the fraud upon others, has the lawyer broken any laws?

I am trying to save up money for my first hunting rifle and I'm hoping to tap into the vast reserves of Freeper knowledge for some advice on what to go for. I am going to get my hunter's certification this year and am looking forward to my first deer hunt, as well as hours upon hours of shooting at the range. I currently own a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun and a 9mm Glock, but am absolutely clueless about which rifles offer the best accuracy and value (or whatever qualities it is in a rifle that I should be looking for)....

I am thinking of getting Vonage. How is it, quality wise? Is it really significantly less expensive than standard phone service, or do they hit you with hidden charges? Most importantly, I would like to know where exactly the phone adapter goes. Will I need to relocate my router and cable modem? Right now both of them are far away (upstairs on ground floor) from my telephone interface block (downstairs outside basement wall), if that matters. What are the interfaces on the Vonage adapter? Thanks.

Someone just sent me a video taken over in Iraq of a suicide bomber who failed at his mission. He was helped along by some guys in the 47th & 319 EOD who sent a robot over to take some pics of the guy then plant a charge. Anyone have any suggestions on where I could get it posted so people could watch it? It's not a situation where people will see body parts blowing all over the place but it isn't for anyone who's a democrat if you get my hint.

What age is good to start teaching your son how to use a rifle? Since we don't hunt, it is for target practive and to learn to respect the weapon as a tool and how to use it properly. Also, any suggestions on a starter rifle? Air, BB, pellet

Pukin Dog here, with my 2nd bad cold in the past 3 weeks. Just as I thought I was feeling better, I get slammed again. I've got the Dayquil/Ni-quil, I've got the Theraflu, The Vicks, the Halls, you name it. I've had so much hot tea, I could float away. The only thing that gives me the slightest relief has been a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper, but that was NOT pleasant. I got my electric blanket turned up to maximum, shades drawn, looking like death warmed over. Dont tell me about Chicken soup, its coming out my..never mind. Help!

KABUL, Afghanistan, Jan. 19, 2006 — Petty Officer 2nd Class Luis Joseph Lopez, stationed aboard USS Bonhomme Richard, last year volunteered for orders to Kabul, Afghanistan, to help reform the Afghan National Police just months after returning from a six-month deployment in support of the global war on terrorism. I think I may need to homeschool my 3rd grade daughter who has brain damage. Last year, our school district closed the school that my kids went to. We started at a new school this fall, and it sucks. I just found out today that my daughters reading level has actually decreased, so it is now time to take serious action. We live in California. I know that she has to take the California state tests, but I don't know how to do that. I'm hoping to do an independent study program through the district, but I need to look...

Hi, Free Repbulic guys! I've been trying to track down some flash animations that I remember seeing; I thought I had them bookmarked but I guess I must have lost them in successive browser/computer failures. I've tried googling for them til my fingers bled, and I can't seem to find them. I've checked out the ones at flashbunny.org, but while good, they aren't the same ones. The ones I'm looking for all started out with a picture of the Liberty Bell and a "dong" like a bell ringing. They had sound throughout, and had very high production values. One in...

I found out today I have to have my thyroid removed (cancer - but treatable). I'm kind of freaked out as I have always been an active, athletic and thin woman. The doctor assured me I could still be active without a thyroid. But I could use some additional assurance - as in, can I run a marathon? Am I going to wake up and weigh 300 lbs? Seriously, I'm too young to become a couch potato. Any Freepers with some experience here? I'm always amazed at what I can learn on this site. Thanks! Meowmeow

Mike McPhate wrote a story for Newsday on Wednesday that made me wince, because it revealed how at least a fraction of the hostility that America receives from the rest of the world may be justified. The reporter, in New Delhi, discussed the picture of bigoted Americans that forms for Indians who answer the phone at a call center in Noida or Hyderabad. The story opens with an anecdote from a 22-year-old woman named Debalina Das, who worked on a tech line for four months before quitting. One American caller told her: "You Indian slut, in some (expletive) Third World...
